I have a tamiya sport tuned motor.  I received it with a car I bought on ebay.  The motor is completely dead and does nothing when a battery in plugged into it.  It there anything I can do to get it going or is it scrap?

Turn the shaft by hand half a turn then connect it directly to the two poles on a charged battery.  If it slowly starts to turn, clean it internally with motor cleaner or even wash it through under the tap, and give it a good WD40ing.

If that doesn't solve it, bin it.

Eh Well, near enough 5 pounds

Theo, if your gonna say 5P it can get confusing, as we have Pounds and Pence, and 10p etc is usually PENCE, i Suggest using GBP after the number :0

Well, a) I am not british and don't have the symbol on keyboard, I write P with capital to distinguish it from (p)ence and c) pence as well (euro- or US-)cents arent really relevant in our expensive hobby, so I irgnore them but you are right [:D]
