T.C~Tamiya 2 Posted April 6, 2006 Sold as a "new in box Tamiya black motor sprint" Rather a disappointment to find that inside the box there was only a used standard silver can motor with the wires cut off, don't think I'll be leaving him positive feedback anytime soon. akemag 0 Posted April 6, 2006 Damm those scammers! The box is in ok shape, but it´s harder to use on the cars i guess...
T.C~Tamiya 2 Posted April 6, 2006 It's hard to tell but I'm not entirely sure if he was a scammer or if he just didn't know anything about the stuff he was selling, I'd like to think it was an honest mistake, but having said that it's easy to see that the motor inside isn't the same as the one pictured on the box. T.C~Tamiya 2 Posted April 6, 2006 lol how much did it cost ya then mate?? hope not too much andy More than I'd like to have paid for a used silver can Mabuchi RS540 []
Shodog 1835 Posted April 6, 2006 I would politely ask for a refund. if he refuses then go through the proper channels of Ebay and Paypal if you used them to pay for it.
DeeMiller 1 Posted April 6, 2006 Can you give the link to the ended auction? I would really like to help you but I have to have more info on this. Grtz Dee.
Sammy 0 Posted April 6, 2006 Ouch... that is too much, and also the fact that he says it's NIB... [] *edited* Sam
T.C~Tamiya 2 Posted April 7, 2006 Hey Sammy... please remove that URL, that wasn't the auction I won, Jason's a reputable seller and I wouldn't want anyone thinking I bought the motor off him !
Sammy 0 Posted April 7, 2006 Sorry chap, just the description was identical. I too have bought from Jason, and was very suprised! Cheers and appologies Sam
T.C~Tamiya 2 Posted April 7, 2006 Thanks for the advice guys but I'm really not too concerned with getting a refund, at the end of the day I didn't pay a huge amount for it anyway, plus I won another auction from the same guy that was a pretty good deal so it all evens out in the end, it is a bit disappointing, yes... I've been looking for one of these motors for ages and thought I finally had one until I opened the box... but it isn't that big a deal to me, win some, lose some. NIB Black Motors are pretty rare so I wonder why you got it cheap. Maybe there's a hint in the description that halted other buyers from bidding... If the seller is as clueless as you discribed, he may point you to the description and there will be no refund. Now you made me very curious. Grtz Dee. Now you made me very curious. Grtz Dee. Here's an exact quote from the auction copy & pasted... "MABUCHI" RS-540 SD (BLACK MOTOR SPRINT) BY TAMIYA (NEW IN BOX) No disclaimers to be found anywhere in the description either. I won't give a direct link as this would be unfair to the seller if it was a genuine mistake
DeeMiller 1 Posted April 7, 2006 Sorry, can't find it (tried .com, .co.uk, .au, .de and .nl, all worldwide, ended auctions). Can you give the item number? Or copy/paste the discription/pics? Grtz Dee
T.C~Tamiya 2 Posted April 7, 2006 Ok Dee, I can tell you're desperate to see it, email sent...
DeeMiller 1 Posted April 7, 2006 Ok Dee, I can tell you're desperate to see it, email sent... Ok guys, I had a look at it and Toby is right! The pictures clearly show a box of the Black Motor. The seller also said: "all the motors are brand new", no disclaimer or anything that should raise suspicion. I think he should have a refund because the seller surely must have known it was NOT the motor which was pictured on the box, it's easy to see even for a non-Tamiya San. I don't want to call this a scammer but it's just kinda ingnorant to send a different motor instead IMHO. But hé, it's up to you Toby...you have the right to complain, sure thing! Options: -Contact seller, try to solve this in a mature matter. -If this doesn't work: complain at eBay's: "Item recieved but does not match description". Man, you were lucky to get it cheap...I would have bid too if I had found the auction...or others... Grtz Dee
