Hi im doing a conversion on an xc cc touareg chassis and need some help. At the moment i have both diffs locked and have tlt wheels fitted. Does any one know how i can get more ground clearance on the front suspension and more suspension travel Also what shocks to fit to the rear to do the same.  Could someone please tell me what parts to use from other kits and if possible the part numbers. Also want to know what parts to use to make the wheel base longer to fit a differant body shell.Im using the truck for rock crawling and is pretty good the way i have it just now, the tlt wheels and tyres really are good, i just want to make it better.

hi,

there is a conversion i have fitted to my rear suspension. it involves fitting juggernaut shocks to the rear. i have sent it in as a how-to guide. maybe you could hassle Netsmith for it. if you want, i can sent you the guide directly. as for the front, i have fitted to rear shocks to the front, and removed the spacers. this doesn't add any travel, but make the shocks a bit spongier. the rear suspension mod adds about an inch of extra travel, and this helps a lot.

if you want to make the car even longer, maybe to fit one of the Land Rover shells, you will have to cut it (shock horror). for more about this, i suggest you PM MaxHilux, as he's lengthened his chassis with metal plates. i'm currently working on a cable steering system to replace the standard one, and have made a servo powered winch. i'll put more info about these in my showroom the minute they are finished

oooh BTW, welcome to the XC crawlers club emotion-5.gif

Have a look in my showroom, there is info on my XC with increased ground clearance both ends. I also modded the rear suspension for more articulation and fitted a Graupner Speed 600 Eco motor for more torque. Feel free to email me for any further info [:)]
