My biggest hope is that they might have a waterproof tray for receiver etc...  High hopes I know, but worth trying!

Waterproof ESC's are easy to find.  Waterproofing a receiver is easy I know, but would prefer a nice pretty box in there!

It looks like 4WS, in the photo with the bed up you can see a link going to a pivot like on the Jugg axles, but thats all speculation.

Hey Andy that will look pretty sweet yellow and black eh?

Firstly, everything looks sweet B&Y [;)]

The 4WS shot? I reckon it's the bed/catapult release mechanism [:D]

I really like it.....!!! it's a 3 speed, solid axles, hard body, it's a scale looking truck (unlike the jugg/clod)  and NEW!! That means (sort of?) affordable and spares available.

It might not be a re-re 3 speed but a very good alternative. The original 3 speeds will keep their mythical status [;)]

Big applause for Tamiya!!!! [<:o)]

Hi

As for the shocks, they're actually originally from the Juggernaut, it's just that the TLT used them last.

Yes, Hopup Juggy Shocks.

The truck already has leaf springs, so the shocks are as much for damping as anything else I  would guess - What do you want, 6 inch Savage shocks?

I understand that with leafs you need a DAMPER, but why the coilovers on the damper?

Heh, if there is a version with a DIFFERENT body released, put me down for one!

From the collectors point of view, Tamiya really hit the bull's eye.

They (re-) released  a 3-Speed for the volks without introducing a canibale, nibbling on your Bruiser's value.

Perfect strrike!

I think it is important to keep in mind that this is a prototype and who knows what Tamiya has up their sleeve. Has anyone considered that they have shown this model very early to assess customer and enthusiast feedback? It gives them plenty of time to fine tune it and I am sure they will be reading these threads.

I say keep giving all our opinions on its good and bad points and with anyluck something that pleases the majority will eventuate.

Personally I think it has loads of potential and I actually like what they have done, more metal would be a definitely be a bonus though. [;)]

Please

Oh go on Tamiya

You know you want to......![H]

I certainly am very happy to eat some humble pie on this one, but I did say it would be best not to have a posting frenzy till we get some more info. It appears that the info makes us all happy!

I will be getting one the day they arrive in the shops in Japan, certainly hope they do....

What a great looking piece of kit. woohoo.

yay, SECOND decent kit T has created for 2006 ... (after Dark Impact).

But has anybody figured out what's with the tipping rear bed?

Like its cute for something like the Mammoth Dump Truck, but for a F350 its not a common option is it?  -- not outside of Pimp My Ride anyways.

Makes mockery of the chrome rollbar (what's its purpose?) and worse still, the exhaust muffler tips with the bed?!? [:^)]

I stand by what I said on page 1:

> That's, well, kinda pants looking...

The red one above is *way way way* nicer looking. All of the 3 speeds have a "style" to them that this new one lacks, imho...

But, nice to see them releasing 3speeds/trucks again...

One thing I do not like is the fact it is all time 4x4 instead of being like the old 3 speeds, but I do like the body as I have a F350 I was going to use for the Bruiser before I found an original, so I will keep it as a spare for when they release this and I buy one![;)]

Exactly.

Remember though that this is just a mock up, with some proper paint work and/or decals it'll be quite a cool looking machine. There's plenty of promise for pimping it up.

Love it :)

And, if you don't like the body.. just slap on another one you do like,

Just glad they keep it with abs and no lexan.

Think this does sound the end-bell for the xc's , as you now have a uber-trail truck,

( with maybe a bit of modding to do. )

Quite intrested what the list price would be, my guess around the 300-350 mark (in the lines of the 3 axel rigs)

And i just primised my girlfrind to cut down a bit with buying new kits.. [:D]  a well.. she will understand (not) LOL

Not sure what this does for the chances of a Bruiser re-re to be honest. This could be Tamiya telling us "This is as good as yer gonna get, now be gratefull"......but what about the other re-re's? Do those that were in the know on this release have any info on another one of the '80's buggies getting the go-ahead? I'm still adamant we'll see a Hotshot transmission buggy re-re'd, probably marketed in the same way as the Hornet....kinda '4WD for those just in it for the fun'. My money is currently on the Boomerang.

Man! I just can't get over all of you whiners.  This truck is hot.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The Juggernaut body is one of the nicest truck bodies Tamiya has ever produced.

It doesn't need more metal because more metal means more weight.   The chassis appears to be made from aluminum similar to how the Semi chassis is made.

Metal gears in the transmission would probably make it run worse.  People who have a bruiser and a semi know that the semi transmission is significantly smoother and allows you to use any 540 size motor you like.

Whether you like to admit it or not, the bruiser is not that great of a performer.  This truck will out perform it by a mile.  In the end, aftermarket manufacturers will be making tons of stuff for it from tube chassis’s to aluminum axle cases.

Got to agree with you.

Looking forward to running it in stock form anyhow for now!  Going to cost enough with 4 channel radio gear anyhow.

As I said before, 3 speed for the less rich!

I must say that I like this body. And the roll bar on it (and off course the bullbar). And it's very good that it is an ABS body, I absolutely don't want a Lexan body.

And about the looks/style from the old three speeds, that is true, but this is an other style. And i like this "style". And the 4x4x4 is absolutely cool (four wheel drive isn't like the old one, but it;s much better, and i like that) four steering wheel, wow.

I agree it's not the same as an original bruiser BUT I must admit this is one catchy ride !  It looks much more practical to todays users and very capable !  It is a nice adaptation with the same theory in mind.  I think it is a great product in a new direction that has borrowed form old philosophy and if we buy enough of 'em the next model will only be better !

My guess is $399.99 US Funds.  As far as my personal collection it will grow by at least two of these trucks!  [:P]
