Corona, CA. Not too far from you in Costa Mesa (30min). I work in Costa Mesa and dropped by for TamiyaCon 2006 in Aliso Viejo a couple weekends ago. Just rebuilt a GrassHopper and am adding vintage parts slowly to max it out.

Yup, Tamiya fans still exist in the States ;)

This is killer.  So I'm not the only who values detail over performance.  I've never been into AE, HPI or Losi because of their lack of attention to detail.  Honestly, you can build those cars if you have access to a metal shop.  I'm all for going quick and all but if your car looks like a lightning pile of sh*t, what's the point.  Call me superficial but I enjoy realism/detail over performance, at this scale at least.  Not bragging that I've never owned any other brand besides Tamiya but it's just that no others brand has toppled the quality so far.

The place furthest away from all of you, infact I think we are closer to the moon than we are anywhere else on earth. (this is not a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination [:D])

New Zealand

(Though I am currently living in London UK)

I'm with you 100%. I love Tamiya cars because of their detail as well (especially vintage). All other RC cars are stripped down for speed/performance only. They are not much to look at compared to Tamiya.
