1/6 scales battery question?

hi all, having recently bought 1/6 scale monster, i have got to the stage where the receiver batteries just aren;'t lasting long enough. i have been told by a few people to get better batteries or use 6 cell packs, i was wondering if this is true and whether anything will need to be changed apart from the connectors?

Hi

In my FG monster beetle i use a sanyo 6V 6cell 2000mha battery.works great for me.

it has lots of power for the heavy duty servos and only needs a charge occasionaly.

is it simply a case of chopping the ends of the existing wire? and simply adding a tamiya connector plug? and then theres the obvious location issue ;-)

The beetle has a purpose built hanging thingy that you plastic tie the battery to.

to connector is a tamiya to normal reciever connetor.

i got my bat from apex and it came with the connector..
