Hey Kyosho fans!  I was adjusting my Turbo Optima this morning and I couldn't remember how to adjust the slipper clutch on the topshaft.  Having lost my instruction book many moons ago, does anyone know if Kyosho had instructions on adjustment?  Also, I have two clutches, one with a locknut and another with a screw.  The one I got to replace the worn one is the screw version.  I think we may have covered this difference in the past, but I don't remember.  Anyone sense a theme here?  I have a terrible memory.  [:D]

Also, I've searched and searched for the little post that the driver figure clips to.  Anyone know where I can find one?  I assume they are kinda rare since they were probably jettisoned for racing and lost.  Thanks!

Kyoshos manual tells you to tighten it up hard and keep it tight. It

isn't actually a slipper clutch in the modern sense, it is just there

to protect the gearboxes under shock loads, such as landing from a

jump. Kyosho recommends you check it regularly and tighten it if it has

worked loose. Don't forget it is a left hand thread so you tighten it

up anti-clockwise.

Good luck on the hunt for the drivers post. The post came with the

driver figure, part number OT-26. You might be lucky and find someone

who has replaced the driver and so has a spare post.

Ok, thanks for the help and the part number.  I will have a look at the secret stash of Kyosho parts at my local hobby shop.

On my Turbo Mid I find that I have to tighten the nut really tight to make sure there is no slip even under ordinary motor use. My hands ache afterwards.[:(]
