Hope this post is OK - I know it's not strictly TAMIYA but I am getting desperate now. I can't find any replacement rear tyres for an early gold tub RC10 with the 3 piece wheels. I've looked world wide for a month or so with nothing. The rims measure just 42mm in diameter, quite a bit smaller than anything else I've been able to find. Anyone out there restored an early RC10 and got any ideas as to what can be used ? Do any other makes fit ? Dont mind something non genuine as long as it looks somewhere near right. Thanks.

The most popular hop up tyre at the time were Holiday Buggy rears so I

would assume Frog rears should fit as well. Holiday Buggy rears are

more appropriate though as they look similar to the original RC10 tyres.

Your rear rims are considered 1.6" and any tire to fit this rim will work. Many vintage tires from Proline, CRP and others will fit and come up on Ebay all the time for reasonble prices. Tower Hobbies still lists a waffle tread (on-off road) Proline tire that is for 1.6" rims. Good Luck. I have a few old RC-10s mixed in with my collection.

Another hot tire I used to use back then where the proline spikes like the ones on this YZ-834B

Hi. In the competition back in the mid 1980s, the hot set up for rear tires on the RC10 was Tamiya Holiday buggy tires. All the local "big time racers" used them. Then they started switching to the Race Preps depending on the track conditions. That is how it was around here anyway. Jim
