Hi All,

I am setting up my Griffin Pro for stock buggy class (for us it means just the standard Mabuchi/Johnson 540) and was wondering what effect the pinion weight would have with so little power to play with. I have some perimeter weighted pinions (like my golf clubs!) make unknown, and some solid Losi ones that weigh quite a bit when you get 25/27T, does the heavier pinion give more flywheel effect and less speed? and the lighter give quicker response, or should I just get a beer and relax!

Cheers

Since its before the gearing, i guess it will make some difference (quicker acceleration vs. more constant speed) but question is how big it will be as the pinions diameters are relatively small and moment of intertia is proportional to the square of radius (thus even smaller)

Cheers
