OMG! [:o]

Hadn't thought about it until you posted this, but I do exactly the same (boys for off-road and girls for on-road).

I feel really weird now [:$]

I refer to my cars mostly by what they are, I do occasionly use more personal termonology like she but thats only because its correct. Never really refered to my models as people. oftens its more "its handling like a dream" rather than she, maybe because Im only 16 and my mates sometimes don't get the finer points of the english language lol. This is one of my pet hates... when people refer to Locomotives or Cars etc. as being "she"...

Locomotives, Cars, and anything mechanical, I always see as MALE.

Cars are male to me, never female.

I even view the Micra as male LOL.

Girls are beautiful but I cannot bring myself to associate mechanisms with female. Must be male.

IMHO

Hey I'm Presto, I'm allowed to be weird LOL 8-)

Cheers,

Ali.G.

I have it both.  If the RC is "nice and beautifully done" is a she as she is a beauty, usually a shelve queen.  However, if i run it and made all kinds of modifications with add hoc repairs she becomes a he.  Scratches, damages and Battle scars are boys stuff, therefore a he.

I learned from an old episode of "The Little Rascals" (aka "Our Gang") here in the states, that "things of grace, beauty and speed" are referred to in the feminine. This was according to the rich nerdy kid named Waldo, as he drove Darla around in his little motor boat.

You probably won;t know what I'm talking about unless you live in the US and watched the Little Rascals growing up...

Those little rascals couldn't have said it any better.  Now, if I could only remember their names especially the one with the a hair standing up straight.  Those shows were great.

In German language cars, buggies, trucks are all male and in Greek language they are all neutral (it) and I usually keep to those rules. In Greek language though its interesting that expensive car brands are usually used as female (Merc, Jag, BMW, Rolls, Lambo, etc) and more common ones as neutral.

For me all things mechanical are female. My 1/1 scale cars, my gadgets, my computer and all my R/C cars be they on or off road, even my forklift at work is female. My reasoning is simple. Cars, boats, houses, computers and big (and small) toys all cost money. Not just the initial purchace but the on going costs like improving apperances and things to keep them happy like the best oils and fuels or some more ram. Everyone here has spent countless hours and money getting that little something, that no matter how insignificant it seems, means the world to your car/toy computer etc. That is why R/C cars especially things of beauty likeTamiyas are female. Also no matter how hard you try you can't live without them and they always cost a fortune in the end!

Cheers!

P.S they're worth every penny [:D]

Each build reveals its own personality in time. You can't name it or even sex it until after you drive the thing. Only then can you determine whether it's a sweet little thing or an evil *******.

My rock crawlers are all males, but the onroad cars are split.

Generally, the more reliable the machine, the more male it is [;)]

äh - in German, generally a car is neutral. We say "das" Auto, but when talking about a special brand/type of car we say "der" BMW, "der" Mercedes CLK, der Fiat Uno, der Skoda etc.

I guess I'm weird too.  I find if the vehicle is good-looking

(i.e. I haven't abused it) I usually refer to it as a girl.  If

it's a basher and gets down and dirty...it's a guy.  I just hope I

don't have erotic dreams about my Mu![:o]
