They look ok but the decals are not included are they? The
Grasshopper body shell from Tamiya is pretty easy to get hold of so I don’t see
the point of a lexan Grasshopper. Lexan Lunchbox and Midnight Pumkin might be
ok for a runner since those cars easily flips over.

Hi bro!

My mate should get on of the Lunchbox lids-he's not light footed when it comes to throttle and he have already broken the front window.

And I might need the Pumpkin for my m01/02 project lather.

Cheers!

Am curious what Tamiya thinks about this and also if they got any permission or paid any copyrights.

Cheers

Since they are re-releases, I would think they had the right to do it since they were first released.

This is great and the mini with Lunch box and Pumpking seems like a good Idea! [;)]

Lunch box-come-Mchassis-ATeam van?

I likey! [:D]

OK - who wants to measure their lovely Lunchbox's bodyshell wheel base? Not the proper original chassis, I refer to measuring from the front to rear wheel arch. I have learnt to my cost that there are 3 M01/M02 wheel bases (210, 225 & 239mm) so what d'ya reckon it would fit out of those options?

The m01/02 short 210mm fit the Lunchbox lid like a glove... But you might have to trim or loose the front bumper to make enugh room when steering.... Touring car wheels are to big so you have to use mini wheels...

Cheers!

I don't think there were any tooling expanses with those bodies (obvious by looking at the low retail price) as they

probably used their old 80's molds and it was just a matter of opening

a production run for the bodies. Parma really needs to release the Subaru Brat replica lexan body they used to make is the 80's, it was a very good replica of the abs version and if the price is similar to the pumpkin/lunchbox lexan bodies it could be a hit among the rerelease Frog owners.

Well pleased about this; my Pumpkin needs a runner shell as I've scratched the decent shell far too much, and as I keep landing the Lunchbox on it's roof I think I will be ordering one of those too!

Anybody know if the Grasshopper shell will fit my Mad Bull? I'm always

keeping my eyes open for a body less fragile and lighter than the stock

Mad Bull item.

Just got the grasshopper parma body in the mail a few days ago. it is configured to mount to the Hornet snap pin parts - so you could still retain a grasshopper look and use modern oil filled shocks without having to modify an original hardshell body. Like Tamiya - they also use the removable spray protection film and also include window masks to make the painting easier. By default the holes are not drilled into the body (only marked) so you could try to retrofit the body to a Mad Bull by drilling the holes in the proper locations. Only problem is the Mad Bull uses a different (wider) chassis than the hornet and grasshopper. So if a Hornet body won't fit, then the parma body won't either.

For those interested in the A-Team van build:

(I've mentioned this several times recently [;)]

I'm using a modified M04L chassis to fit a chrome pumpkin shell as a

lowrider project.  The M04L without the spacer (M04, I guess..?)

is about half an inch too long, but the width is almost perfect.

The only real issue is the front arms as a little bit wide, which could

cause steering issues, however it shouldn't be too difficult to shorten

them a bit and bring a the wheels inside the shell at the front.

The rear can be narrowed easily as it uses wide hexes as standard; narrow ones will bring the wheels in a few mm if required.

There will be a full write-up on this project in my showroom when I get

around to cutting the chassis and rejoining it with alluminium brackets

Van or Truck - as in, Lunchbox or Pumpkin?

They are 1/12th, not 1/10th, so no, they won't fit on an XC unless you

don't care about scale realism.  The chassis will not only be too

wide but far too short, so the wheels won't line up with the wheel

arches.

I guess you could modify one, but having no experience of the XC chassis I couldn't tell you how.

anyone know if the van or truck fit on a XC chassis?

the wheelbase on the XC is too long but if your willing to hack the XC chassis, just about anything can be accomplished
