I have a couple of items that I would like to post in my showroom, not R/C related but definitely vintage from the 1980s, which I think would be of interest (and I just want to show em off anyway) to other members.

I've looked through other people's showrooms and there is plenty of stuff listed there under 'Miscellaneous>Other' that is not at all related to R/C so my stuff should be perfectly fine...but I just wanted to make sure before I posted it that I aint breaking the rules.

It's an old Lego set and a Raleigh bicycle that I want to display. Can I go for it?

mhhh, before i get banged-up, me ain't no saint either!

No, it is not allowed..

BUT.. :)

Why not make a real nice picture from the Lego set, with a nice tamiya model also in the picture?

"my TT-01 with a vintage lego box"

Or a SS sitting on the back of the bike..

Solved [:D]

I'm not sure why you'd want to put pictures of Lego up on "Tamiyaclub"?

I mean, there's lotsa stuff I like, from the 80's or not, but it's not appropriate for TC, even if some people might like the pics. I like music gear, doesn't mean I'm gonna start putting up pictures of keyboards here!

The general concensus seems to be if you want to share pictures with people here, use the photo hosting functionality that you get free with your subscription, don't put it in your showroom, as people come here for R/C content, and not "80's content".

Don't want to seem like a killjoy, but my take is the more non-RC related stuff that appears on TC, the more it dilutes the focus of TC on Tamiya and RC.....

As scoobs says there is the excellent tcphotos hosting which allows you to upload a huge number of pics, and has a similar organisation to the way the showrooms are setup. Why not upload the pics there in a  folder and then put a link to it in a post in the "Anything not related to RC section"?

People can still add comments and discuss / share info about the items in the thread.

Just my 2p

Sorry come to this thread quite late in the day (been busy) Any photo which is not predominately RC/Tamiya related is not allowed on Tamiyaclub - the one exception is 1:1 cars and the rule on these will be clarified very shortly.

TCPhotos.com was set up just for this type of thing, lots of people have lots of other hobbies and Tamiyaclub is not a generic photo hosting site - there are enough of those already. Over at TCPhotos on the other hand you can post pictures of what ever you like, family, friends, pets, etc.

Cheers

No problem. To be honest it has taken me this long just to get round to start putting all my R/C stuff in my showroom, and I've been a subscriber for a while now. I have'nt even looked at TCPhotos yet so have no real idea what it is and what it can do, but now that I know I can put my other stuff at least somewhere I certainly will do so. Cheers.
