Hi all, I have got a madcap fully ballraced with nosram 13 turn limit esc and i have replaced the stock silver can with a super stock motor . I have tested it just litirally going round my driveway and the heat is so extreme from the battery its started to melt the connectors. Can anyone tell me whats going on. The motor is new and i cant seem to find out whats going on. I have a no limit esc with 15 double motor in my baja champ and have had no problems with it what so ever. Im presuming the problems with the motor pulling to much power.

Can anyone help me.

Check:

Does the transmission work smoothly?

Have you got too large a pinion on the motor?

Are all the electrical connections nice and tight?

No short circuits?

checked everything you said. Electrics are fine (well they were fine until the heat has slightly distorted the battery connector but its ok now), transmission is smooth. It must be the pinion gear. Whats the best size pinion gear to use please.

What size pinion have you got on it at the moment? To be honest I'm surprised it would make that much difference - if you use the original motor does it still get hot?

Right i got it so the mesh is perfect now and it still doing it and its not getting top speed neither.

Its doing my head in now. All i want is a nippy 2wd buggy for some summer running [:'(]

Sounds like the motor has a problem - is it rebuildable? You could try connecting both motors directly to the battery to see if they both run at full speed...

Thanks for all the help so far guys. I think it is rebuildable not that i know anything about rebuildable ones. I tried the RS540 in the madcap last night and it worked a treat. So what do you reakon could be wrong with the super stock one. I dont really want to throw it away. ANy help would be much appriciated.
