Only a woman could ask that question :-)

Seriously, either you sleep through the morning glory or you have a physical defect!

I wont be able to really touch it until tonight! Naturally I have opened the box, inhaled and then felt the tyres, doesn't everybody?

It sounds almost dirty when you say it like that.

Not from the forums (from the traderoom), but this from Regressing! made me laugh...

If I don't reply to your offer within a day or two its because I can't see the screen through tears of laughter.

Sorry Tramsnod, you must be expecting this though

I'll leave it until tomorrow and have a pretty critical look over it and I may even get some Mr Muscle and give it one more spray if it needs it.

I've probably handled a least a dozen Willy's (that sounds bad doesn't it????) and this is the hardest one yet.

Note that you only get an XP downgrade license if you have Vista Ultimate or Business. **** you Microsoft!

I dual boot both, and seriously - Vista isn't that bad... It doesn't deserve the bashing it gets.

If you have 2GB RAM or more, and once you tweak it and turn off some of the unnecessary stuff, it's fine. My machine blitzes with either O/S. Vista definitely stutters less than XP when opening menus, start menu etc, and doesn't stutter for the first few moments after boot like XP does. And I had no driver problems whatsoever. And Vista is more secure.

The only real annoyances are the unnecessary changes to the existing menus and options (stupid stuff like renaming 'Add/Remove Programs' control panel), and the slow network file copy performance, and slightly worse game performance.

It's just fashionable to bash Vista.

But I don't doubt Windows 7 will be better. Oh, and you can quote me on that (to keep it on topic...)

- James

Agree with everything you say there James. And Windows 7 runs very well - even in Beta. The really funning thing is that a lot of the criticisms aimed at Vista are exactly the same ones that XP had to put up with when it first came out. More so when SP2 for XP was released. As you say, Microsoft bashing is seen to be fashionable.

Vista SP2 apparently sorts out some of the remaining performance issues as well.

From Chutneypundit:

Where as the Nosram 17x2 on the F150 truck I got off eBay has a small industrial town on the end - springs, capacitors, a wee man with a red flag and a mug of tea...

Lovely image...
