As far as I´m told, the release will be earlier for the LHS, than the Asian webshops.... And this may apply for the whole world, but do NOT quote me on that. (I have ordered mine at the LHS, confirmed that the norwegian distributor will receive this nice piece without delay...by air..!) So long!

Never will happen. In Japan all distribution online or physical shops is through the same channels. Further to synchronize shipments worldwide they would have to either hold shipments within Asia for over a month or air courier the kits which would add a substantial cost to the bottom line

Rainbowten linked above is a physical shop as well anyhow, about 500 meters from Tamiya's headquarters.

Seen it.  But fun to look again.[:D]

This truck is looking better each time I see it.  I think my wallet is groaning.

Nice, you had to bring the video up again.  I watched it and I am off the wagon... again !  It looks fantastic.  If only I could stop shaking !!!!!  Imagine what the box art is going to look like.  The family Monet is fixing to be replaced !!!

Any word on replacement / alternative bodies in the works !!

What will be needed to complete the project? Kit, Radio, Bearings, ESC, MFU ??

I think if, or rather when, I get one its going to have to get larger Bruiser size wheels and tires. Other than the obvious nice metal parts thats the one thing I think it really lacks is the beefier look of the Bruiser.

I think there is loads of room for hop ups though to really customise it.

Nice vid!!

Yep, I think I'll need one of those....I'll 'ave mine with the Knight Rider rollbar lights too thank you [:P]

or are they Cylon eye lights?[:S]

Hmmm...Cylon eye lights.  Might be on to something.  Think I'd prefer the Knight Rider verion.[:D]

"Good morning KITT!"

"Good morning eek".  "May I blast you out of your seat, or jump a few cars for you?"

"Uuuuuhhh.....why don't you let me drive, or I'll turn you into a shelf queen."

(Pause.)  KITT's think light rapidly swishes back and forth.

"That's not nice Michael, excuse me, I mean eek.  I've noticed you're not a good driver anyway."

(Thinking to self)  "Where's my bleep'n transmitter!??  Must be an off switch for his mouth!"

End.

I don`t like the Cylon lights ,the body looks too high and the tyres look too small with the body that high and the vid is pants(but thanks anyway),there was a good ramp/incline there, what a wasted opertunity.

SORRY

I am sure it will be a fine kit when released.Good things take time to get right.

Actually, one thing that they could have done is make the rear section into a proper utility tray so you could put stuff in it....that would have made it look really scale.

Can't see it being the chassis holding them back....wonder why?

Twisty,

They may be working on some of these things.  Maybe the reason for

the delay??  I agree, it does look a lifted a bit too high, but

then again there's room (pun) for improvement with optional

wheels/tires.

I suspect the "Cylon lights" above, will be an option with the

MFU.  Could always hook up some standard bulbs/switches.

Again, more room for improvement...and more money.  Aieeeee!

That is exactly what I suspect many of the European distributors are trying to get Tamiya to do though - which comes back to the "worldwide release on the same day" thread on this board which came up a few months ago...  there could be some truth in the Norwegian news in that case.

Got told by the boys at Super Rajicon today that the kits look like they will be sent any moment, so I asked them to call when they arrive, hopefully won't be too long from what I can tell. *here in Japan that is!!!! hehe

One lucky member is having one sent to him by me, he will get it pretty early.

cheers

As soon as I get mine, I will try to put up pics.

My quick take on it...

Probably that Tamiya sell it as 2ws but with the option to make it 4ws.  The clod was 4x4x4 as it was 4ws as standard, whereas the TXT-1 was not pushed as 4x4x4, but listed 4ws as an option (same goes for the TLT-1 as well).  Purely a case of options rather than standard setup.

The set-up looks identical front and rear, so 4ws should be no issue (or if not supplied as defauly, should be easy to rig up at a later date).

Cheers

I think the 8 photos were of the prototype release several months ago ie. the tires are cut and glue, the cargo bed flips up etc...very soon we'll all know what the final version will be or at least for the 1st year model.

I want one of these now plus I need the radio gear and the mfu unit as i NEED lights and sound and I will need bearings a spare shell and the 100000000 Tamiya Hop-ups so hopefully if its released in Sept 2097 I will be first in the queue with my YEN or you can all buy me one which if you think about it does make sense! When is this thing being released Sept. 2006? I might buy a King Hauler instead they look really good to!
