Just got my two Thundershots in the mail today . . . the boxes are

significantly smaller than I remember the box on my old Astute

being.  Did Tamiya shrink them?  Or did some cars have

smaller boxes than others?  Or is my memory just faulty . .

The box sizes vary from model to model.

The smallest one I have is the Madcap, if i remember correctly, the rere Frog is significantly larger.

my re-re grasshopper box also looked smaller to me than the original, but after looking at a tc member showroom in which he compared the old vs. new boxes I realized they are indeed the same size. I guess I remembered it bigger because I was smaller!

Correct, also happened to me, but its just that we were smaller and more easy to impress back then. Also ThunderShot was one of the later RC cars which had smaller boxes, it was impressive when I was 10 how big the Holiday Buggy box appeared to me which still today isn't small as it belongs to the old era of large boxes. Unfortunately box size and internal design (blisters etc) declined with the years...

Unfortunate for you, but fortunate for all those LHS owners who had

basements stacked to the vaults with NIB kits (ooh, nostalgia again!!)

Fortunate for all those poor rainforests too, I expect.  Someone

said they use trees to make paper, although how they operate the

machines with their thick branch arms I'll never know[:^)]

Haha, Branch arms.

I'd rather see the blister packs come back ( missed em first time around, too young ) and pay a bit extra!
