midnight pumpkin pinion question

hi there just bought a midnight pumpkin of ebay, where else. when stripping it to ballrace it etc i found it was fitted with the spacer missing from the motor and was wearing the hornet pinion, and for a minute i thought would this work and how would it affect the performance and birden on the motor and gearbox etc.

The bigger pinion will make the truck signifigantly faster with much less wheely on demand. It is not too much of a strain on the motor, assuming you have the stock silver can and are fully ball-raced with a free spinning driveline.

It's considerably more tricky to drive and will roll at any opportunity, if you aren't very gentle with the steering.
