TL-01 or TT-01 for drifting / car-park bashing?

Had a serious think about what i wanted this month since money went a

bit tight, main options that have presented themselves is one of two

NIB kits:

A TL-01 Focus WRC (tamiya number unknown), or a TT-01 Imprezza '04

(58333).  Don't really care which one I get shell-wise, as I have

a Parma shell that I'll use on it.  Just wonder if anyone has any

idea which would make the best starting point for a smooth-tarmac

drifter?

Never been into tarmac before so not sure which is best - TT-01 or TL-01.

Obviously ball bearings will be fitted as a matter of course, and some

drift tyres or PVC plastic cut to size.  Other upgrades as and

when they're needed, I guess.

TT-01 is a newer and better design drivewise, also parts are easier to get and cheaper.

If you want to drift it, the TT01 is better since there is no bias front to rear so the car will slide evenly - the TL01 has a bias to the rear which makes it easier to kick out the back but more tricky to drift.

TT-01 is the better car by far. Not sure that there is any rear bias on the TL-01 though, never noticed it on mine or heard it anywhere else!!

Cant speak for the TL01, but the TT01 is a natural born drifter. Straight out of the box, the neutral setup is ideal for ABS tyres. If you want to run commercial drift tyres, all you need are the adjustable swing arms to allow some camber to be set.

Agree, my TT01D is a much better drifter even then my theoretically higher spec hopped up TB01.

Just waiting for my TT01 scoobaru and lexan pickup shell to arrive for some uber-cool drifting action now []

Might have to get shopping for some nice rims and then try to find some ABS "tyres" too

gd choice - TT01's bath tub also makes it extremely stong whereas the Tl01 monocoque isn't as i have snaped them at the rear. it also slides over kirbs better lol in tarmas rally style

TT-01 every time locked diffs also help well blue tak them and the perfect drift car imo ![]
