Dose anyone use airtronics mx3 radio and receiver plz. i m currently

use MSC and plan to chg to ESC. I read the user menu of radio. It lookz

like have to use extra battery to power the receiver if using ESC? All

know that will incease the weight of the car. Is there any way to not using

 extra battery.

Ths is the user manual of radio:

I didnt think you had to use a new battery, you'll be needing to do a different battery linkup for the esc. If you or i do find out how to use one battery you will be wanting a nimh 3500mah or above battery to power evrything in the car.  However if you want maximum performance it would be advisable to use another battery like it says in the manual, this way maximum power will be going to the servos ect ect. This will improve your perfromance. i am using a 3800 nimh battery and i am running two stock 540 motors and an MSC and receiver and it works great.

Sorry i dont really know how to link the batterys up for an esc.

Most ESCs have an extra wire that provides power from the battery to

the receiver.  The standard Tamiya ECSs come with a switch in a

wire - this switch you bolt to your chassis for on/off, the wire coming

from it has a standard plug that goes into the power socket on your

receiver.

I don't have details of your specific receiver / ESC combo, but most

power plugs are a common size so you shouldn't need extra

batteries.  I run all my cars on 6-cell racing packs with no

problems.

If you run a separate battery box for your radio (normally 4x AA size)

you will get longer running times, with a trade-off in weight and

having to remember to charge the 4 AA batteries from time to time -

otherwise it'll run out half-way thru a run and you'll have no control

over it [;)]

Just ask a Nitro car / plane owner how many times they forget to charge

the radio batteries and have to run after their vehicle [:(]

Adding yet more weight ( though a very small amount , it all adds up ) to the car/truck/plane/so on and so on ...[;)
