Wow, I just noticed that as well from Jason's auction pic after a closer look!  Not bad at all.  Wonder if he'll get more?

isn't he (JR-RC) a member here?

Hey Jim, are the decals the same? I'm sure my bodies are on their way but I wouldn't know as I'm stuck in Kansas!

Jason seems to be simply putting them up 10 at a time as I looked at the ended auctions (250014765436, 250015141410, 250015431310, 250016013051) and came up with 3 seperate auctions he had already run and noticed a few regular names from this great site. I also noticed one guy in the third auction purchased 8 of the body sets which seems a little greedy but each to their own of course. I was tempted to purchase 2 bodies when I noticed he had listed another 10 bodies which 6 had already been purchased and now are all gone again (I got one) and I guess that is also why everybody has had the 50548 and 50549 wheels available for the last couple of months at good prices of around $6US for the front rims and I think $8US for the rear rims so will look real good when all put together.

I was also wondering the same when some guys where buying the same re-release kit more then 5 times but later found out that some people buy stuff from him and re-sell it in other usually local ebays (under a different ebay ID of course) for some good profit, well since some people are willing to pay more then getting them directly cheaper, you can't blame them....

More?

We're already providing a 100%+ markup at US$48... ****!

Wish I could read Japanese... US$22... obviously I still think it's value for money though... I got one... :)

A few years from now when these bodies are selling for $150-$200 a pop, your going to wish you bought all you could for $48

Not even the early 80s Tamiya lexan bodies don't fetch that easily nowadays 20 years later and back then there were no real collectors/investors collecting/keeping them for this reason, making them much rarer. I agree, the GT2 is one of the nicests bodies out there, but most of its hype started from http://classictamiyarc.com/tamcars01.html Also don't forget the inflation, reducing the actual value increase of even the old classic kits, which are more rare as Tamiyas weren't collected not even a tenth as much as today.

Theo, How can you say that.  The GT2 body is going to be hot in years to come.

1. it's a Porsche which is always collectable

2. You can make any Ta-02 in to a Short Wide configuration.  you don't need a special chassis for it.

3.  Before the re-release I saw body kits regularly sell for $150+

Yeah, but can you get those silver gearboxes? [:P]

If you technically wanted to make it as accurate as possible you would want the silver gear boxes as well as the TA-01 front arms.

The point I was trying to make is that in the past, The Porsche bodies tamiya made were pretty much limited for use on their respective chassis's.  Since the Taisan used a chassis that was shared with quite a number of other models.  Teh popularity of the body set would increase because you were not limited to using a hard to find chassis.  Even the instructions that came with this re-re body show how to install it on a TA-05 chassis

The TA02SW Taisan Porsche uses standard TA02 front suspension and reversed TA01 rear suspension arms.

Nice to see that Tamiya are providing instructions to adapt other chassis to this fabulous body.

I hope these are in regular supply for a while, I would love to have a few runners and not worry about dinging them up!  Nothing like a GT2 being put through its paces.

Anyone notice that the body mount holes or antenna hole isn't drilled on the re-re body?  The original has slotted holes for the rear mounts and antenna. I'm painting up one of mine now, watch for it soon in my showroom!

which is kinda cool and will allow you to stick it on another chassis.  I am trying to figure out how I can put one on my XRay T1.

They are re-re as they have no holes, re-releases usually have the same date casted on the sprues as Tamiya doesn't bother to change it on the moulds, also for Tamiya its cheaper to reproduce then store, as room in Japan is rare and very expensive.
