Thanks I will! However mine has turned out to be quite a project... I'll likely list the "story" over at RCMT but the latest chapter is that SuperClean ate some parts... a shock cap and the rear axle collars.  I mean SuperClean nearly completely destroyed them...and that was just overnight.  Now I'm much more carefully with that stuff.

I'm in a huge toss-up as to powercoat the frame (using Matt's services with Reflective Chrome powder coat) or do the same as yourself (polish and spray)... but I'm leaning towards the powder coat job since it looks so nice.

I was really impressed with the results of bead blasting and then polishing but I can't seem to get the last little swirls out of the part, but it is nice and reflective so far.  My resistor cover was a total write-off but after a little bead blasting, it looks better than new!

Does the silicon spray become non-tacky?  Or does it attract dust/dirt etc?

Thanks!

The silicone spray works great. One of the specifications is that is doesn't attrack dirt. Because it's a little greasy dust it will attrack dust. But if you whipe the chassis parts in with it and then whipe it of with a clean cotton cloth there will be a small film left wich is enough for protection agains your fingers etc.

I haven't choose for sand blasting and chroming because (in my opinion) the realism of the car/chassis is gone then. I must admit that a bling-bling chassis is nice, but i like the "just very good cleaned" more.

She's on her feet!!

Just finished the front of my Bruiser. Finally she's on her feet now. I can't wait to begin cleaning the body.

Well I just finished blasting the rear diff cases and polishing them up... well half of it.  The front half has too many little crevices that I just can't get the polishing wheel (on a grinder) into and even the Dremel won't cut it.  The rear-half was much easier and now shines like a mirror!

Might have to find something interesting or start the elbow grease with Q-Tips!
