Pointless getting anything above a 17 turn motor as a Rebuldable Stock 27 turn motor is faster than anything down to around a 17 turn motor, not including a 19 turn spec modified. So basically try a P2K 2, Green Machine 3 or any 19 Turn Spec Modified, like the Chameleon 2 or such like any of these are easilly faster than a 23turn motor.

Thanks

James

Lets hear it for the 27turn stock motor!!!!!!!

Both of my sons and myself discovered, a long time ago, that, for a novice, more power often leads to a SLOWER race and more breakages!

Because...... the car becomes more difficult to handle, meaning more time being marshalled. Impacts become more frequent and harder, due to more speed, which equals more repairs.

And to finish first,......... first you must finish!

To anyone upgrading the kit motor for the first time buy a stock, you will be surprised at the power, it's plenty for a novice or a novices car to handle.

Too many stock motors to list. Hmmm monster stock, p2k2, paradox, epic has a new one that alot of people are running. At my races, the stock racers get more lap times out of their 27 turn motors than the mod guys who run anything from 12 turns and up. It's all about gearing and setting up the car. Too bad I cannot set mine up right or else I might be in the A final. Nah I'm lying now. I suck lol[8D] just ask mr.pushrod

For the standard mechanical speed control a 24degree stock will be fine until you can afford an ESC. Keep clear of the 36deg stocks they draw too much current for a MSC and they don't last long.

If you can find a "run out" discontinued model 27T 24deg rebuildable stock you should get a good deal. For a first time upgrader which particular one really isn't important!

i would go for a faster motor, maybe a 19 or 17 turn, but change the gearing so that the car has a higher top speed, not acceleration. then when you can handle that, change the gearing so that you have the best of both. by buying a 27turn, you waste money as you will soon get bored and want/need something faster.
