Yeah the Predator buggies look pretty cool with their front and rear wing set up and inboard shocks. Check out this site, www.oople.com, for reviews on the latest 4WD racing buggies.

Great looking buggy. DI is great for the intended market but it isn't

in the same class as the predator. Think TA vs a 415MSX. One's a club

racer, the other a competition lvl machine. I'm kind of excited with

all the 4WDs available to us now. ZX-5, Predator, MR-4BX,

XXX4, XX4, and the Tamiya concept car. Maybe electric buggies will be

popular again. On our local track we have to resort to putting all the

electrics in one heat. From a mini-T to an Brushless E-maxx. Not enough

entries!

Used to race one of these way back in 1994 (yes, 1994!) when

technically they were even more advanced than today, with a carbon

fibre tub, more aerodynamic suspension and bigger aerofoil section

moulded wings front and rear. The biggest problem was these extras made

it harder to build and maintain and made it less durable. Each update

to the car since then has basically been concentrating on improving

reliability.

This was the first shaft drive car with the motor on one side/ stick

pack on the other side chassis layout back in 1993, which is so popular

today. The Predator moved on from this way back in 1996 to the saddle

pack layout for improved handling. Now we are starting to see saddle

pack conversions for some of the modern high end buggies like the BJ4x4.

A search for Predator in the showrooms will throw up many examples of these.

What is this "Tamiya concept buggy" that I keep hearing about. I heard

in another thread it's coming out in the fall? Any pics? Any official

release date? Any info at all about this alleged buggy?
