Not mentioned in kit instructions, but maybe in MFU manual when released, I will keep everyone updated.

Truck's looking real nice [H]

Companies like Tower are a bit slow to update sometimes and they just let the date run out and update then.

The last date we gave them when they updated was August, They are aware of date now and just have not updated it yet. That is one of the problems with big companies that carry so much product.

Great with videos, but it would be nice if one could see the truck running without so many cuts back and forth. It´s like a music video. Hard to get a feel of how it goes over the track shown.

Janderson, the info you posted on T-USA site about the F350 is very nice [:)], thanks, but as nice it is, so poor the videos are [+o(], the F350 isn't a TNX which looks spectacular on a race truck, we would like slow climbing or wading through sand or mud, also try to film it closer and use sometime slowmotion and no MTV dance video effects, just a little tip to reach more prospective buyers! [:)]

Ok, so its a nice looking truck with some cool features. Except the

dampers dont seem to appeal to me. As its only leaf springs, I guess

oil dampers are not a necessity, but the spring inside is maybe not a

good idea as the o rings will slide up past where the spring rubs on

the bore. Also the hole on the lower end doesnt leave much metal left

on the piston shaft.

If this was released here in Japan when the original date came, I would

of surely purchased one. Now I dont think I will. I guess I was caught

up in the hype, only that seemed to die over the time that has since

passed. That being said I still think it looks grand and I am looking

forward to seeing these in the showrooms of TC, its just my personal

oppinion is not as strong (for other reasons).

I think the "dampers" were done on purpose like that to hide the coil springs which would look non realistic on a leaf spring vehice, also according to Tamiya they can be filled with damper grease and there the rubbing won't be so critical like on oil dampers and anyway as you said, on a slow scale vehicle damping isn't so critical and leaf springs have internal damping too (due to leafs moving/rubbing on each other when bending). I personally like this scale looking choice.

I have to agree with those who didn't like JAnderson's videos [:D]

Sorry but I was watching them to get some idea of the truck, rather

than to be impressed by music and cuts.  In fact I found some of

the cuts happened so quick that it was almost like subliminal messaging

- I'd barely focused before the angle changed again.  It gave me a

headache [:(]

Give us a good shot of the truck in action, please - climbing, racing,

or just demonstrating gears or something - and we'll thank you forever

(or at least until the truck is in stores [:D] )

just my two pen'orth...

Just a message to JAnderson. I am fully appreciative of all the info you have provided, it is great you have taken the time to keep us all here on TC informed.[:D]

A note to the few guys who seem to be complaining or demanding of JA and the info he is providing, give the man a break! I know I would start to get pretty annoyed if I was sharing this info and getting nothing but complaints or demands about this video or that etc etc. I understand where you are coming from but remember he is doing us a favour.

So JA keep the info coming, whether its perfect or not it is definitely appreciated by everyone here I am sure. [H]

I for one will be buying a Hi-Lift.

I am also grateful for the additional info and pictures plus the fact you have posted the links here however, I agree with the complaints about the video. Any chance you could do one with longer shots and a tighter focus on the truck? As Theo says, it's not a TNX!

Thanks to JAnderson for giving us some extra info on how the Hi-Lift is coming
along.

I think the second video was good enough but the first one almost gave
me a head ache with its fast paced clipping.

Some videos of the Hi-Lift running
on the beach or along some forest trail would have been awesome. Not that I
need to be convinced about buying it (I’m getting one). It would just be great
to have something to watch while we wait another month (or so it seems).

Please read the posts carefully, noone complained about the info he is providing, but even congratulated and thanked him, there were just comments that the videos is not en par to the infos and page for a company like TamiyaUSA and these comments were directed to him as a company representative and not personally, we are allowed to do that in free world, don't we? Also JA isn't doing us TC members special favour, he is just kindly informing us of the things he is updating on TamiyaUSA page, which is his job and he would do anyway.

Theo fair call but I do read the posts carefully.

As I read through this thread I got the feeling that while we were/are all grateful, we were being a bit demanding on the man and not the company. As I said I do understand peoples complaints but at the same time lets look after the hand that feeds us. In the end while we are a large enthusiastic group we are not the be all and end all of Tamiya making money on this product so a slightly more respectful approach to its representative (I felt) could be taken.

If it is JA's job to go around notice boards giving people updates every few hours then I stand corrected however I suspect it isnt so as far as I am concerned he is doing us a favour when he goes beyond merely pasting a link into this forum.

As an aside to the above, I am wondering what sort of hop up options we will see on this kit? Surely with an mfu like the big rigs we could possibly even have trailer options amongst many many other possibilities?

Here is hoping! Waiting is half the fun.....nahh not really I cant back that up. Roll on Sept 25th

I agree with what you are saying, but I think Tamiya is reflecting how most of us will drive this F350, gentlely and slowly.  As 1st roll-over, the beautiful paint job is scratch; 2nd roll-over, the size mirrors are gone; 3rd roll over, the roll bar lights are history.....  At $450+- to $600+, this baby ain't cheap but sure I sure would like to have one.

I also like to know what Tamiya has planned for this chasis and what other hop-ups or options will follow, of course is subject to how well or not so well the F350 will do in the market.  Different make, dually, low ride similar to the MU, tow truck, small dump truck bed, SUV etc..

Fellow Tamiya Fanatics,

I never take your comments personally, when personal attacks are sent they go in one ear and out the other. (Or eyes in the PC case)

Some simple facts to consider:

Not my job to post links on sites to inform anyone

My job to update tamiyausa.com and keep it current

Not my Job to shot or edit video, but thought it was important to get that done

Since our TCS National races is days away and racers are practicing at the track I could only get so much footage.

I shot the video and edited that way because I found that the video was a bit boring with longer cuts.

mate, all the infomation you have posted is top stuff.

i dont think i have wanted an rc as much as i want an F350.although i have always wanted a 3 speed ,.the original 3 speeds dont come up for sale to often in Australia.so the F350 is a much better option for me.plus i am a Ford fanatic :)

How is the top speed on the Hi-lift? Do any of the videos
show the truck running at maximum speed?

Not that I want it to be fast I’m just
curious if I will need to build the Hi-Lift with a lathe motor to keep the speed
more scale (and to avoid a nasty high speed roll over).

And if you are responsible for the layout of the TamiyaUSA
webpage I give you two thumbs up. The High-Lift product page looks great.

Speed is good, Have not had alot of time to fully test it (yeah I know, I can send it to you all to test it, Ha, Ha) Remember it has 3 gears and low is very low (more like real 4WD Low)

Thanks for the thumbs up, just trying to keep up!

PS, I just posted Tech tips on the High-Lift page (Enjoy)

Hi all, first post.

Nice to see the F-350 living... but i got a nasty headache and frankly

got rather irritated from trying to follow those videos. You say that

the videos seemed boring without the many cuts. I don`t think that we

are that jittery that we need to see something new every second,

especially not when it comes to this truck which many of us have been

waiting for for a long, long time. We are starved for material. If you

have the means please do it justice and shoot it again with a steady

hand and with long, simple shots. Somebody mentioned a foresty trail,

that would suit it to a T.  No need to slice `em up and gut the

excellent sourcematerial, we want to see the Ford run clearly, simple

as that.

You know, with a more-channel radio, it would be very easy to put a dump bed on that [:D]

Your right about the dump bed. .  Plus a myriad of other scale goodies.  I would love to see a winch system.  I really think this truck is going to be a hit on the market.  I also hope this spurs a renaissance in scale trucks.  I would like to see other similar trucks come out.  I am so burned out on the whole monster truck bigger is better scene.
