I pre-ordered from Stella and got an email

from them today basically saying that due to high worldwide pre-order

demand, they won't be getting them till later this month now.

It does look like either

The Hong Kong distributor told the shops when they were getting

delivery of the kits, so the shops advertised the early september

release date only to be told later they couldn't get them until

the  worldwide release date.

or

The Hong Kong shops advertised the early september release date to get

lots of preorders they wouldn't normally have as a lot of buyers would

want it before the worldwide release date if the opportunity was there.

I'm kinda glad I held off on BINing one of these.  I'm not a fan of pre-orders.  Basically they will have your money tied up for a month while you wait for them to get their shipment while you might find another similarly priced deal on a kit thats ready to ship.

I'm going to try something different...not sure what though.  I'll probably use a bright color.  Maybe yellow.

Still not a word about the months ago pre order from rainbow ten,

but, they always contact when they actually HAVE the kit in stock ,  a well, ordered it with them so would be lame to cancel that and go for another seller to get it a day sooner.

Thinking of doing a us-army dodge-look-alike for mine, yeah yeah.. its a ford.. i know.

Or, maybe a towtruck/construction vehicle would be cool and easy to do due the seperate front & rear body parts.

Stella have dropped their price to $US 300 with free bearings, shipping is $US92, and expected ship date 25/26 September. At current Paypal exchange rates that works out about £215, against UK expected prices of £295+.

Hi people,

The high lift looks great, but i dont like the big black arieal sticking out the top of it could you use the telescopic arieal that is used on the 1/14 tractor trucks or is that just not possible?

Do you need to prime soild bodyshells or just spray them with your chosen colour?

Wash with soap and water is a minimum, then paint.

However, if you're going for a concourse type quality paint job, use primer to find all the imperfections in the mold and body, then sand/repair them. Prime again...sand/fix...repeat until happy with the body. Then paint...

Personally this body is likely to receive a fair amount of "abuse", hence I'll likely go for the soap/water/paint method for now :-)

Thanks, its bad enough bodging one paint job let alone bodging the layer its going to be sprayed on. Also Tamiya imperfections i dont believe it i just dont!
