Hey Thompe, i've had a think about this, and i thinkthe easiest way to recreate that bug would be to cut out the "bonnet" of the blitzer shell, just outside of the 2 "petals " and epoxy in a square of evergreen styrene. then it's easy really :)

So far after the cut =)!!!

Hiya BadBoy, i think your way of doing it will look better than mine, not too sure about that nose piece though?

If i was going to do it again ( may well do ;P ) i would do i like this..

Cut out the section of the bonet with the dimples and glue in a flat piece of styrene.

Sand and fill until it is flat.

Shape front wheel arches to suite.

See this pic i whipped up in MS paint for info;

I did what MikeT is suggesting... the blitzer bonnet was cut out leaving the 2 outer 'ribs' of the bonnet in place, then some sections of plasticard epoxied in to fill the gap and give a rough shape of the bonnet. the rest was done with car body filler and sanded till i got the desired look. It looks LOTS of time, i even contemplated chucking the shell away and leaving the 'narrow eye' front end on for my runner. Glad i didnt though.

Heh, i did the same mate, glad i stuck at it though!

Next time i can be @rsed to start a facelift project i'll do it this way, seems less hassle!

Good-Look Thompe!
