Hi all,

I bought a pair of older losi buggies off ebay to use for parts for my restoration. I found out the hard way that junior-2 bodies don't fit the vintage flat graphite chassis cars, but there are plenty of good parts to make it worth the $35 I paid.

Anyway, the ebay lot came with 2 cars. both have the molded chassis but there are some differences:

one of them is longer and has a second set of holes in the back to move the entire rear suspension back about 1/4" to make the wheelbase longer.

This longer chassis also has some recesses moleded into the side areas, as well as having a molded in square for the antenna holder.

Both have the molded plastic shock towers. niether of them have an area on the side of the chassis to mount the 5-link suspension bulkhead. Upon furhter inspection it looks as though the shorter chassis had the side mounts but they were cut off, as there are remnants on the chassis sides from an uneven cutting job. the longer chassis has straight, smooth sides with no evidence of trimming.

any Ideas as to what I've got here?

I'm thinking the shorter one is indeed a junior 2, and that the longer one may be a jrx-pro se with the plastic shock towers instead of the carbon fiber.

It is difficult to tell sometimes with the old losi stuff because so many of the major suspension pieces are shared by several models.

Thanks,

-Anthony

Hi Anthony,

Your assumptions are correct. The shorter chassis is a Jr 2 with the 5-link mounting areas cut off. The longer chassis is a Pro SE chassis and it does have Jr 2 shock towers, shocks, and front A-arms. The Pro SE had longer, hard anodized shocks and graphite shock towers. Also, the SE had "swept" front A-arms. The transmission on the SE has the longer input shaft for the slipper clutch and possibly Hydra-Drive.
