Virus' post in this thread touched on a thought I've had for a while.

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/xforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12453

Its the concept of a cruise as in Chealsea cruise (Custom car slow parade) at Tamiya meets for shelf queens. It was inspired by wireless' video of trucks at snet.

What I'm wondering is how many people would be prepared to 'CRUISE' their shelf queens, as this would be a special occasion among enthusiasts I'd be glad to drive any of mine in this scenario. I mean how much value depreciation / damage could happen to a car driven like this?

I'm interested in the thoughts of others.

Thanks

Phil

hay i could bring my moster beetle shelf queen [:D]

dont let fatboyslim read this thread ok [}:)]

only joking[;)]

the only damage i can think of is minor tyre wear

(monster beetle spike tyres would wear down fast[V])

unless there was a bit of radio interference -

imagine what would happen then [:0][8)]

thats just my thoughts -

it would look very cool though! [:P]

OH NO YOU BL***Y WELL WON'T!!

Sounds like a pretty cool idea actually!!

I've only got two mint run once only cars that's my 350z Nissan and my Mini!!

How much "cruising" would an MSC take? and how slow could a MSC equipped Sand Scorcher (etc etc) actually go?

The closest thing I have to a shelf queen is the full options Tiger 1' everything else is very much a runner.

maybe different types of slow parade

1 month have touring an rally next month vintage offroaders an so on an so on would cover all types of tamiya old and new and show other members rides off too could even have polls on the type off parades wanted so it gives ppl time too sort out their colections even if they run once or thousands of times like mine [}:)] maybe even find a nice straight have drag races find the fastest car in tamiyaclub.com

ps

my esc is held in place by velcro so could always no doubt lone it for a vintage slow drive [;)]

Yeah chaps both MSC and tyres worried me too, and radio interferance did not occur to me at all [:0] the thought leaves me cold.

Obviously some concessions would have to be made as an msc would fry and tyres are sooooo costly, but lets get really shallow on this and say as long as it looks BLIIIIING'IN good thats all that matters. Not that this is a deffinate at all, but at least there are people who seem keen [8D]

Chealsea bridge anyone? [:D]

Thanks all

Hey virus, we hold races for the runners :), the cruise should only be for those that dont normally run, like the vintage on road at snetterton this year.

Got nothing to run in a parade [V], im not running my rr, ranger, wild willy m38 for no one :), got runnners for that purpose :)
