Well, I'm learning all the time, and up to a few days ago had never heard of these beasties.

I've seen a couple of Ebay auctions for the Minis. Am I correct in understanding they use petrol rather than a nitro mix? Love the engine; it looks like a baby lawnmower!

Are they new or vintage? Where would you get a replacement bodyshell from?

An American auction just finished:

And another auction, this time in Germany:

Compagnucci 1/8th scale came out about 10-ish years ago

They are a 2-stroke petrol engine and when they were released they included everything you needed to get it running (except petrol and 2-stroke oil!!) including the nifty litle carrying bag !!

If I remember right they were about the £250 mark new and imported to the UK by Ripmax, I remember my lhs had a couple of them, they came with different bodys but the only ones i remember are the Mini and a Saxo, there was also a F1 version, apparently they are pretty quick but if spares are still available is anyones guess

Before these Compagnucci had released other 1/8th scale cars on this

chassis which were never popular until they made these 1/6th scale

Minis in the mid 90s, when just about everyone was making their own

Mini. I think they also made a Beetle as well and they all came in the

'bowling bag' holdall instead of a box.

They use a 6cc two stroke petrol engine and yes it runs on unleaded

with some 2 stroke oil added. The chassis are decent, 4 wheel drive

with twin belt transmission means a quite high top speed.

Compagnucci has not been heard of since and as they weren't that

popular (probably because they were so different) spares will be

impossible to find.
