Do you guys know if it is possible to use a Tamiya TEU Electric Speed Controller for the Bruiser??

Can the Tamiya TEU handle the Bruiser motor??

Thanks.

I assume you mean the TEU-101BK with the Bruiser 750?

I don't think Tamiya recommends it, but it should work. The TEU-101BK's 540 limit is 23 turns. A stock 550 or even a 750 is actually easier on the ESC than a 540 as far as I know, given that there's more wire for the longer armature, which would be like more turns on a 540. So a TEU-101BK or even some piece of **** like a Duratrax BLAST! should work fine. However this motor will be moving a lot of metal so you don't want to risk the ESC overheating. A high spec ESC is what I'd recommend especially if the ESC will be enclosed, partly because of better control over motor speed and less risk of heat buildup.

Tamiya ESC probably will not work. I have Novak Super Rooster with reverse it run great. I even tried running two 7.2V hump pack connected in series which giving me 14.4V on one of my Bruisers. All I can say it's insane. I can only drive in 1st gear in 4WD, 2nd or 3rd gear is almost impossible as the Bruiser will only do donuts if you manage to keep traction then it's top speed is insane. I only drive for 2-3min as the 750SH motor will start getting hot.

Well , personaly Ive never used the Tamiya ESC , but any cheapo ESC will work fine with the stock motor in any of the three speeds . You by no means need a Super Rooster for the 750 unless like JYCM3 , you put twice the power to the motor than a stock setup . Or you just have a lot of money burning a hole in your pocket . The Super Rooster in a stock three speed is like useing a Howetzer to go squirl hunting . Any ways , like I was saying any low budget ESC will work fine for any of the old three speeds ...

Agree, any cheap ESC I have tried on it worked fine, but it depends also on condition of truck, ballracing, driving style and terrain, but if drive it carefully (like most do with those expensive old dinosaurs) it should be ok.

I ran my Bruiser with the TEU-101 without any problems.

It was in a re-built bruiser so i knew everything was in good order before i tried it.
