what's your best ebay buy for £30 or under!

hi all,

i recently read an article in a r/c magazine about an ebay r/c race where the rules were you had to buy a complete r/c car on ebay for upto £30 and the reporter quoted 'plenty of vintage tamiya turned up' what a quality race that would have been! []

so the question is what tamiya car have you found on ebay for £30 or under?

im sure 1 of you jammy sod's will have got an avante with £30 bin lol []

i dont know if this has been done before, if so sorry! im a newish member!

a mint 934 chassis

(before the re-release, when those were expensive! LOL)

a very good Fox  

and a very good Marui Big Bear

for each equivalent of approx. 30GBP or less.

Sure they can, someone from TC (don't remember now who) once BINed a NIB SS for $75, I was few minutes too late and saw even the listing and still can't get over that LOL

Not necessary, some are from 2001-2 while some only a year old (Fox,

Big Bear), so bargains still exist, just have become rarer as more

sellers know how to investigate what their item is before listing it

wrongly in ebay and too many ebay hunters around.

I manage to BIN a 9/10 grey SRB bumper for $20 USD with shipping included. I was viewer #2.

okayn mine isn't as old or rare as some of those but i got a 1999 subie impreza on the tl-01 chassis(suppossedly limited edition?) magnum sport radio, futaba esc, all paperwork, very good cond. body 1500 battery, quick charger and misc parts for $55 shipped to my house. i was pretty happy and used the chassis to turn it into my scorcher wanna be.

For under £30 it was probably a Sand Scorcher chrome tree (C-parts)

My all time best eBay bargain though has to be a new built Sand Scorcher for £140.

A genuine new build, as in one that was built in the 1980's then never used, completely mint with battery and Acoms radio gear, missing only one tail light lense and one wing mirror. It wasn't a buy it now either, it was on auction, still can't believe I got it for that price.

Very impressed Theo, this can't be compared. But the last E-buy I was really happy about was this Nikko Thunderbolt! 54.99 $ BIN and it is in good shape, only misses the roof plate witch minijosh are selling me for a very friendly price. And the crystals was a little wrong, thats why the seller sold it for that price. I did a swap for the right frequenzy with TC member Skinner. I am truly happy with the whole thing.

Got an NIB Technigold motor for £20 with BIN - listing was still warm when I spotted that one !

I got a full set of 4 channel radio gear for £14

and about 2 yrs ago won an incomplete mudblaster for £28 but the guy ripped me off and never sent it

a bit over price for this but i also won a clod for £45 BIN with full radios and batterys etc rtr

then there was the sand scorcher project complete front end and gearbox inc all the arms, shocks, wheels & tyres, chassis, torsion bars, 2 bumpers  etc for £30 posted

and the twin detonator with esc etc rtr for £28

so there are still bargains out there

Still my best would be my recent CLK DTM vodaphone shell as new with a few sets of holes drilled in for the princly sum of £5. It may nt be tamiya but it'll be gd for a runner and has wingmirrors, front spliters and a wiper that i can put on other cars lol.. so i am pleased

Best non ebay bargain through TC was my atlezza carbon shell as thats mint lol

mine, albiet overprice, would have probably been my RS4 rally roller (minus shocks, plus dead TRX servo and mabuichi motor) for about $65-70. kit retailed for about $200+, minus motor and servo. building it from new bought parts would have costed a hair under $300. I think I got a good deal, right?
