other day, and i ordered 2 of the same 21x1 motors.

ok, they arrived, but i've been sent a 21x1 and a 21x2 instead, both are made by the same manfacturer.

so i phoned them up and i said that i wanted 2 21x1 for my wild dagger, but was sent 2 different ones instead, but the bloke on the phone said that its ok to run a 21x1 and a 21x2 together on a wild dagger.

is this true?

or am i being flobbed off?

thx

You can sure run the motors but the thing is, it is not what you payed for! For trucks you want the torque of a single wind. I would get back onto the guy and get what you are owed!

I believe that one of the motors in a Dagger needs to be a reverse motor. Since they messed up already, make double sure you have the proper motors for the truck. I think reverse is only an issue if your motor has timing other than 0(degrees).

I think running 2 different motors is not good as one motor will always be working harder to overcome the weakness in the other, whether it's low-end torque or higher rpms..

I don't know much about the wild dageer but two different motors should wreck the gearbox because of the extra strain of them working against each other

The difference between a single and a double wind isn't that big, especially if they are open endbell high quality motors. The tolerances between normal 540-motors is much bigger. Accordingly, none of the motors will be severely stressed, and the Wild Dagger gearboxes are strong enough to take the added stress of two motors working slightly "against" each other. However, I agree that you should bet two identical motors if that's what you paid for! [;)]

Also, because the motors run in opposite directions in the Wild Dagger, you must either mount two motor with 0 degrees timing, or two motors with adjustable timing (not fixed endbell) which can be adjusted the same amount of degrees in opposite directions from 0 degrees.

The single wind will have a bigger punch and higher battery consumption than the double. I strongly suggest you have either motor changed or get another exact set, so you will get 2 sets of motors.

The single wind will have more low end torque than the double, and the two motors will have different power and torque curves, but more importantly for a given amount of power the motors will run at different speeds, even though they have the same number of turns. Send it back for a replacement. It could be the shop only stocks one of each wind, so has sent you what it has.
