Observed some more and it seems that it beeps steadily when moving at a slow speed either forward or backwards and as my speed gets faster it stops beeping. Is this normal?

Most ESC's make a noise when they're operating at a rate proportional to the throttle input. They regulate speed by pulsing power to the motor (a bit like a light dimmer) and it's usually this that you can hear. Now if it's beeping in the same manner as when you switch the tranny off before the ESC, then you could have a different issue... HTH. David

Its the same beep as when I turn the car on, or when I press the button to program the set up.

Hmmm... not sure then. Have you tried adjusting the throttle trim on the tranny? I'll have a listen to my mc230cr tonight (should be similar) and see if it does the same. I'm sure others here can help - a number of them run the same model as yours. Sorry not to be more help. David

melbs i have the same esc u got they do make a beep sound. when u finished the setup did the esc led go out? (if not it didnt finnish the setup)

and does the led get brighter the more u press/push the throttle (same in reverse) if so your esc is set to the requirements stated in the manual if u switch on and get a continuos rapid blink the esc did not preform the setup an u will need to start again.

Its perfectly normal.

These ESCs produce that high-pitched sound so you can know you're actually using the throttle, no?

I use two just like yours and never had any sort of problem.

Fury, Thanks for helping, wait for your reply.

Virus, yup, i finished the setup and the led light went out, yup, the led light gets brighter as i increase the throttle also in reverse too and like what was indicated in the manual when i reached the max for throttle and reverse the led light went out as well. Everytime i start the car it makes a single beep also like the one in the manual.

El mexican, the sound is louder than the first single beep when you start the car, and is a continuous beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep sound as long as i hold the slow speed. Are yours that way too?

Hi melbs. Didn't get chance to check mine out last night (got delayed at work and then '24' was on [;)]) but by the sound of the other replies, your ESC is working as intended. Cheers. David

Most ESCs seem to make some sort of noise when driving gently, this varies from a low buzz to a high pitched variable beep.

It isn't usually the ESC that makes the noise tho!!! it's the motor windings resonating at the switching frequency of the ESC.

Budget ESCs switch at about 50Hz (the buzz) while better ones operate at higher frequency, often about 2000Hz (the beep).

Top spec ones use variable frequency up to about 7000Hz to optimize the power/current characteristics (the variable beep).

My MRT pro instructions are quite specific about the motor having to be connected to set up or program the speedo as it transmitts beeps via the motor to enable you to know what you're doing.
