dahhhhhhhh...(temporarily speechless). That's looking great! (ok, better now)

You do us Yankee vets proud Dee (sniffle).

[:D]

best,

<gggg>[:P]

Ok, next batch: I made some real progress this morning:

PICT0101.jpg

Plenty of space at the back so I fitted the body post in the sparewheel case.

PICT0102.jpg

Parts for the wheel arcs (boaring job...).

PICT0103.jpg

Front wheel arc.

PICT0104.jpg

Rear wheel arc.

It's soft black plastic (ABS?) and works very good with the glue.

I also stripped the camelbar and it's ready for painting again.

More to come.

This is gonna be one of the nicest bodies i've seen, good luck with it fella!

I'm glad you like it![:)]

Ok, last pic for today:

PICT0107.jpg

Bump stops.

As I don't want to raise the body any more (as it is already raised 5mm) I added two 1mm O-rings in the shocks to prevent the tire to touch the body.

Good night gents!

Bedankt Martin! Hebbie wat te kijkuh int weekend...[;)]

New parts:

PICT0108.jpg

The exhaust, "soft" alu thick wall tube (same as the extended air intake).

PICT0109.jpg

Painted and polished.

PICT0110.jpg

Mud flpas...flps...plfps....flpflppllsslslrrrrrrrrrrrrsssss!!!!.............well, those mud and rocks and stone catch thingies...

Made from some kind of vinyl...don't know, I just use what comes by.[8-|]

Can't show them on the car yet as they will be attached with double adhesive tape after the painting of the body.

If that isn't strong enough, I'll use thin iron wire, drilled through the wheel arcs.

I think some sponsor logos looks good on them, still waiting for them.

I'm going out this weekend so no updates till monday, sorry.[:$]

Have a good weekend gents!

Looking good Dee

but if it were me i would keep the spare wheel holder side panels and hold the spare wheels in with scale leather style straps so you can still see them or at least the tyres

I'm back and had a wonderfull weekend: A1GP down at Zandvoort!!!

I'm want to put some new pics up this evening so be patiened...

I have thought about that but there isn't any room to fit the wheels anymore.

I also thought about cutting one tire in half and let them stick out the back.

On second thought I just leave it as it is now, it looks better with the striping...and saves me from more work (although I like your idea).

I just went nuts on detailing the rear bumper...

Stay tuned!

As promised:

PICT0111.jpg

Put adhesive alu-tape on modeller's stucco plate to copy it.

PICT0112.jpg

Added them to the side bars.

PICT0113.jpg

Other stuff: filling up the screws of the roof bar.

The making of the 12V and 24V(=ABS) connectors:

PICT0114.jpg

Parts...no, don't walk away...watch as they will become something completely different...

PICT0115.jpg

Now do you still recognize the bolt in it?

PICT0116.jpg

Filling up the other bolt with polyester putty.

PICT0117.jpg

Hmm...doesn't look right...

I replaced the "big" bolt by a smaller one (round headed screw, puttied...).

Note the (intentional) holes at the right, just for scale looks.

PICT0119.jpg

Better.

PICT0120.jpg

A close-up.

****, now I see I have to redo the painting!

Aw 'ell, that's pretty close...won't do that again, lol!

PICT0118.jpg

Drilled holes in the back to simulate "thin plate" looking from the front.

Yeah, that makes two of us!

Some more:

PICT0121.jpg

Front is now finished.

I replaced the wood glue by "headless" nails, looks better now.

PICT0122.jpg

The mudflaps seem to have seen my Nicads as they are immitating the "memory effect"...

PICT0123.jpg

No problem as I have an iron...

Didn't work out...

They just don't want to stay flat....[8o|]

PICT0124.jpg

Ok....now the mudflaps are made of rubber.

PICT0125.jpg

A moke-up.

The cables are "iron wire" so they will be strong enough for use outside.

They prevent the flaps to fold back and tough the tires when driving over rocks backwards.

Last things to do:

-Prepare the body for painting.

-Paint the camelbar and the rear bumper.

-Making the whipers and paint them.

-Waiting for the decals (or better: stickers) so I can determine the measurements of the striping.

Whoops [:$]

Some more:

PICT0126.jpg

The bolts for the mounting of the sandplates.

PICT0127.jpg

A close-up...

The trick is to "camouflage" the used bolts by another shape so they don't give away their origin.

The making of the windscreen whipers:

PICT0128.jpg

Iron rod, 2mm

PICT0129.jpg

Hammered and filed into shape.

I'm gonna solder a small 1mm iron bar on the windscreen side.

Hope to show you when finished tonight.

I think too...[;)]

Last ones for today:

PICT0130.jpg

Soldered the 1mm wire to the whiper, sanded.

PICT0131.jpg

Assembled.

PICT0132.jpg

Filling up the hole as the civil Hummer doesn't have the extra light.

More filling has to be done on the body so I'll be quite busy the next few days...

I'm a bit worried about the covering of the green body by white.

My plan is to spray Tamiya fine primer (white) and finish with gloss white.

Anyone knows if the primer can handle automotive paint?

You take detail-building up until the next level,

very nice idea's comming around.

I hope you did not take a © opyright on the way you are making the towing hooks, as the "plan" here is stored for further (ab)use :)

Very nice project!

Thx for the compliment![:D]

Copyright? On the contrary, it's there to share!

I learned some things myself by watching other modellers (IF they take the strain to show pics of the building).

Enjoy![;)]
