Ok; So who has one??

We sent out all three that the Hobby co sent us, I know how many Stella Models got, and various others....

In Japan many people were dissapointed; as each retailer was given just a handful (literally countable on one hand) Someone from Japan (serious collector) tried to order one from us; but they all went in a blink.

They are the most limited thing in a long time. Does anyone know how many Tamiya sold to Towerhobbies?

Certainly limited enough that if you were to recieve one through the post; knowing the box had a slight scuff, you wouldn't send it back would you? Well someone did.....

Lets see someone actually build one of these. Of course; when the correct paint comes out....

Tamiya allready had the correct paint at the Tamiya Fair, both in spray can and the little polycarbonate bottles.I dont how long it will take for this paint to get the Europe but hopefully soon so you can build your 934.

Exactly!  There would be no point in building it without the correct colour paint being available.

funny that there all Nib, lol.

What did you expect at that price, rarity and non availability of the paint, to rush and paint them in fluor yellow for carpet racing? [;)]LOL

LOL!!![:D]

Ok, now for something more serious: I finally can say: the 1000 items are a hype theory.

I managed to get an official statement but I'm waiting for approval to post it here.

Stay tuned.

@Theo: where did you order your 934 for only € 350,- (incl. shipping)? (yes, you saw that one coming, right?[;)])

Was this including the taxes? (you reminded that to me as I didn't count them in myself some replies ago).

I'm very curious because I want to have another one to build.

But prices on eBay vary between € 535,- to € 680,-...

Got mine from the early pre-order offer of RC Champ (all long sold out), luckily paid only 20€ taxes. Internet rulez! [;)]

Looks like the spare parts (like the original W-parts) for my vintage 934 are re-released...

Can someone confirm that?

Are the mirrors in a sprue too (like the original Q-parts)?

Would be great![:@]

Anyone?

Another Q: are the tires the original "old style" Good Years?

Another thing: with the re-release of the W-parts (incl. the different whiper), an original 934 and 935 RC-body is very hard to spot, now, only the coloured windows would make a difference to the static kits...

Not so happy with this TamTech 934 any more...

For releasing a new Vaillant 934 it's great but for vintage lovers...hmmm.[^o)]

What do you think?

My TTG 934 hasnt arrived yet, but I doubt the tires are the same as the modern ones have much (unrealistically) lower profile.

I dont understand why you care so much about not more people being able to restore their vintage cars, does something need to be exclusive to you to give you a kick or do you see them as an investment??? Also as you said windows still are different, static 934 kits arent cheap and dont exist in masses and even if they would, the old metal chassis won't get more as they are now...

Yes, I care about originality and exclusivity.

When Tamiya would re-release a black Porsche static kit and I would own an original Black Porsche, I would be pretty sick.[+o(]

I'm sure a lot of vintage lovers remember the value of the 934/935 driver and probably paid a lot of money for it.

Now you can just order them for € 6,- at your LHS!

Isn't there anything sacred any more?

No, I'm not in it for the money but I can imaging it's a bit of a dissapointment to some folks(well, at least I am).

Yes, exclusivity gives me a kick and I want to pay a lot for that.

But now, as re-releases are common, i got scared about spending lots of money on a rare item and find out later, it's not all that exclusive any more.[:@]

I can't help it that exclusivity is expensive, it may look like I'm in it for money but it just the way it works...in terms of money.

My same old re-release issue.

But I don't want to discuss my POV, I'm just curious about other POVs.

So folks, what do you think?

To be more specific:

Now, you can buy a 935 static kit, add the W-parts, (and even put it in the manual and an empty 935 RC-spare parts body box) and make a lot of profit.

I have all these items, except the W-parts...not yet...go figure!

It's dangerous for folks who doens't know much about the 935s and thinking they have bought an original 935 RC body...

Also, just a quick spray of "smoke" could easily fool the unknowing buyers.

I'm hoping i don't give people any ideas though (that's why I would mention it in here).

So be (even more) carefull now.

First, not many people have 935 bodyset boxes and manuals in excess to make a living out of that [;)]. Also screw bag is propably different. Second, what will they do with the remaining static kit? They aren't that cheap so you make huge profit. Also if the parts are exactly the same do we care? Since the Grasshopper re-release we also don't know anymore which tires are original and which aren't, I personally don't care and am happy as I can get cheaper replacements now. I personally think this is the wrong hobby for exlusivity and value investment, since our cars are not very rare and desired and I am happy for that, as there are enough "exclusive" hobbies for new-economy made rich.

It was only ment as an example, it could be sold without the box ór manual ór screwbag, whatever.

The point is, we loose another major point to tell the difference between an original RC-body and a static kit.

Futhermore, I understand your policy, if an item is available to complete your model, re-release or not, be happy, sure.

But as this topic could be watched by Tamiya, maybe more people got the same feeling and would like to express it.

I would give it a go.

Although I completed my Tyrell Sixwheeler with cheap (re-re) parts it still is not the same as the original, it's just different.

What I want to say is: to me, an original Sixwheeler is as exclusive as an original 934, it has nothing to do with money.

Which one is the most expensive is not the issue.

Well, we still got the speedo, as I always say: "no speedo, no 934".

Anyway, today I went to my LHS to see the TamTech 934, it hasn't arrived yet (maybe in 2 months).

I want to see it first although I like the kit already, the W-parts thingy was a bit of a dissapointment, same as the plastic instead of alu rims of the 934 30th Anniverary kit, no big deal though.

I can live with both of them...well, I have to. (I may need help soon...[+o(]).
