Not sure if this was done, but lets list off all the items that commonly break on Vintage and New Cars..

Here are some that I remember:

Grasshopper: Front Bumper

Hornet: Front Bumper and the Body Posts

Frog: Rear Gears and tranmission plates

SuperChamp: Rear Bumper Breaking the corners

Well let's hear the rest!!!

Posted

TA05 - Rear diff pulleys due to little stones

TB01 - Nothing really tho slope in steering and also rear shocks need constant oil refills

TT01 - Front Suspension mounts for the damper from kirb bashing.

Hot shot! Front Suspension, breaking the shock mount!  That sucked!!!

Same deal wit the Thunder Dragon and Super Sabre.

Clod buster - B11 anti rotation braket, chassis tub.

Pumpkin - body posts, rear axel pivot springs.

Juggernaut - Body, wing mirrors.

Sand scorcher - front suspension arm mounting bars (always bend!)

Monster beetle/blackfoot/mudblaster - shock mounting positions, body posts.

Thundershot - that stupid A part on the front, that mounts the bumper and front suspension arms. A 12 i think?

TxT-1 - Drive shafts

Posted

M02 - the steering post, don't ever drive it without the body, any contact will break the post and requires the front end replace...unless one can config. the steer with the rear.

It is the A5 part of Thundershot and derived cars that is probably the worst designed Tamiya bit ever.

On the origrinal XR311 I remember that all the plastic body parts had to be glued on and came ofcourse off the first time I drove the car (in fact every thing fell off my firts 311, because I hadn't used threadlock.....)

Lunch Box / Midnight Pumpkin - rear axle springs snap and are useless.

King Blackfoot- Anything to do with steering - even more fragile if you try to reduce the slop. Also bodies crack behind the cab after a bad roll

Mini Cooper racing - Rear of chassis cracks - wheels broken very easily.

Posted

Mud Blaster / Brat - front grill-to-body mounting lugs always snap off

in a head-on crash; rear screen pushes through rear bed when rolling.

King Cab - rear hex drives / splined driveshafts wear quickly

Posted

Wild One/FAV - Diff gears and hex driveshafts prone to slippage (same as frog).

Avante - Aluminuium balljoints prone to wear, front uprights like to snap.

Another shout for the A5...

Also, the Wild One chassis tub - seem to be lots cracked in front of the front roll cage mounts...

SRB front suspension arms...

Manta Ray gear box case lids...

Posted

Boomerang / Super Sabre: first generation bumper

Striker / Sonic Fighter: chassis at front

Mad Cap / Saint Dragon: chassis at front

Ford Ranger: body at front fender (weirldy most often the left one [:S])

Cheers
