Blazing Star, AGAIN

Is it possible to convert my blazing star, into a fully functional, touring car? with proper touring car bodies, and suspension? what do i need to do it if so? This is my second post..... This website is great, i got a reply for my first post within 10 minutes or so

Anything is possible... but is it worth it?

No, basically.

You could go and and search for all the (old, probably discontinued) TA-01 suspension arms, shock mounts, shocks, driveshafts, body posts, bodyshell etc, and fit them on your Blazing Star.

But it would be definitely simpler, and probably cheaper, to buy a more recent Tamiya touring car, like a TT01. That way you will still have the Blazing Star for when you fancy a run off-road.

OKay, u have convinced me there thanks.. BUT i have a friend thats aslo got a tt01 chassis touring car, and i dont really wanna get the same chassis as him. Is there some other chassis that has a similar price range and is as good if not better??????[]

TT-01 isn't a bad car, but if you don't mind paying a little more for a better car, the TB-02 is a good chassis that comes with some nice hop-ups in the kit like adjustable upper arms, motor heat sink, ball diffs, full ball bearings and aluminium propshaft. And it's compatible with a few (not all) of the TB Evolution and TA04 tuned parts.

Once you factor in the hopups included in the kit, then it's worth the price difference.

If it doesn't need to be a Tamiya, the Yokomo MR-4TC Custom is a fantastic car at £99 (if they're still easy to find). Much better than a TT-01.

You can get an Associated TC3 racer for £160, which is also a great car. Both these need electronic speed controllers though (no MSC supplied).
