Hi,

I've just acquired a Ford escort TA01 but it doesnt have a speed controller. I remember they used to have a mechanical one, but would a cheap esc be ok? I have acoms radiogear / servos.  So me an the lad are a bit dissapointed :)

I notice on ebay there is a tamiya esc for about a tenner, I think its bundled in most of the new cars. Would this work on my car / radio gear as the ad doesnt mention Acoms.

failing that, anyone got an old MSC they want to sell for cheap?

Cheers

the standard tamiya esc Teu-101bk is fine if you are just running a standard silver 540 (27turn) or maybe a tamiya sport tuned (23turn), easy to setup and pretty much bullet proof. will work with your radio fine.  Hope this helps.

It would be on the limit so it would depend also on driving terrain, style, gearing, condition of the transmission etc, you could give it a try though.

MSCs on ebay for about 3.00 pounds most of the time, Mtroniks eco 20 ESC (down to 20 turn motor) about 20 pounds, not had any trouble with mine. Easy to set up too.
