Some motor questions

Right the time has come to upgrade and tune a little more power from my respective cars. Im not looking to rock to world and all my race areas as rather compact so acceleration is far more important than top end - I need motors for 3 cars so here goes.

TB02 - This has a TEU-101Bk as its a simple racing tourer - looking at a GT tuned to match the endurance clk gtr shell and laid back handling - How do these rate? run time, power, RE BUILDS - as i hate them lol.

TB01 - presently a sport tuned - tho i would like a little more torque low down - could the 27t dirt tuned provide this without losing to much top end? in which case what is the run time and RE BUILDS (that word again lol) like?

Dark impact - I need a motor for my dark impact to race in a tight track we are creating at the back of a local shop with the owners, I was thinking 23 turn tz but then saw the new bz 23 turn motor - howz this rate? in the low down torque, run times and RE BUILDS? espically the heat as I will be doing a lot of accelerating?

Any opinions or information will be greatfully received, cheers Ryck

I have tested all new Super Stocks (RZ, TZ and BZ) and they all offer great performance, torque and runtime and don't need frequent rebuilds, have heard similar about also the tuned ones, so I don't think you can go wrong there.

so a bz motor it is then. How do the 27 turn dirt tuned rate? and the gt tuned?

now i could be wrong but isn't the BZ, TZ and RZ all 23 turn motors, which could possibly fry the standard tamiya ESC?

yes they are - however these will be in buggy which has a 10 turn lrp AI F1 esc so will be no problems. The same esc is in my rally car, its just the TB02 that doesn't have one hence the mention in case others decided to recormend a larger motor in it.

as you can see and when you test them they are all very similar so you cant go wrong with any.

superb looks like a BZ motor for the dark impact with the sponge as well and a gear ratio of around 10:1 it should be perfect.

I have looked a little more at the dirt tuned 27turn and also note it has a similar sponge to keep the dirt out so will be ideal for my tb01, final question is what is the gear ratio recormendations - I run about 9:1 at present on the sport tuned.

I recently purchased and fitted the 25t GT tuned tamiya motor into a TL-01 and this was running the TEU-101BK ESC, this combo was fine and the performance increase was fantastic.

Just looked back on this thread.

I more question with the motor for my TB01. Will the dirt tuned 27turn give more low end power? in which case what is its gearing range?

as I will wish to run it rather high around 9:1.
