My advise to you befoer you shed cash on an expensive servo is to get a good quality servo saver. Trick bits do a good one, its made by K O and you don't get much better than that!

In my experience servos last years, is the existing saver very worn, or are you connecting the servo without a saver straight to a white servo arm, or do you just do insane bash sessions!

Firstly I would recommend just replacing the servo gears with any

other servo, but as the Acoms AS16 servos are cheap (only £2.85 each!)

it's not worth doing. For something better try the Futaba s3001

If you want to stick with Acoms the AS12 is a better

servo.http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=...amp;ItemID=2002

The problem you are having is with the standard Tamiya servo saver,

it is too stiff to protect the servo gears. The servo saveryou have

listed is too big for your car, it would also be cheaper to buy from a

model shop.

If you use a Futaba servo you want to fit one of

these

If

you use an Acoms servo you want a servo saver designed to fit KO servos

Weird, I always found the Tamiya kit included saver too weak and replaced it with the Tamiya hi torque one and never had problems with any servo.

The servo saver on ebay is perfect, the club I race at has TL01's there and all have the same problem as you.  The standard sized servo saver is to small, the one you have found is for trucks but it is the right length so is perfect and it works (solved all the problems for the guys at the club) the acoms AS16 is actualy a good servo, a bit quicker than the 12 and draws less power so stick with them.

That was ok I could see enough. The one you need is the normal sized one, trick bits is the best as I said before. It will be much easier to do than the tl01 as your car has the servo the right way up.

the original tt-01 server srm would not fit the as-16!

Tamiya always includes 2 servo adapters in their kits, one for Tamiya & Futaba and one for Acoms, Sanwa, JR & KO, only some Hitec servos don't fit either.

Exactly - I have never had any problems with any of my acoms servos AS10, AS12 and AS16 all have been perfect using the stock tamiya servo savers, And i am probably one of the highest input drivers around so they get a hard life espically on my street track. i think that the lack of any servo saver is ure problem - put one on using the right adapter and you should be fine. an As16 is about right for a tt01 basher, its cheap, decent perfromance and reliable (at least for me)
