OK following on from the death of the Wiltshire meet, here's a suggestion for a meet in Somerset.

Brean

Sands in Weston-Super-Mare has been suggested as a good all-round place

to start, should be quiet this time of year.  Dunes are great fun

for climbing and racing, and has big flat stretches of sand for

high-speed hooliganism.

Anyone interested, whack your name on this thread, and we'll think up some dates...

I'll definately be up for that, and probably my hubby Alex too.

I've found a link to a tide timetable (Acrobat pdf file), which may prove to be useful once a date has been set. We want to drive, not swim! [;)]

Its very flat and a bit bland, unless we take buckets and spades and make some jumps. But great for SRBs & buggies obviously. Alex & I sometimes cause havoc across the public golf course on one of the footpaths to the beach!

If there is more of a response for trucks and crawlers, Ham Hill near Yeovil is very good. There are quarried humps and bumps all over the place, some rocks to climb, and some sheer slopes to play 'how far can I drive my car vertically'. Plus most importantly, a pub a few hundred metres away.

I have quite a few r/c traffic cones which are great for laying out a course and driving round, and will bring them along.

I haven't been toBrean for a while, but I expect the sand would be

fun for buggies (and we can bring some wooden things to make ramps

too!)  ISTR there was access to some big dunes that should be fun

for buggies or monsters. I remember playing with some Star

Wars guns among them a few years ago [;)]

 Yeovil is also

fine for me, sheer vertical faces sound like excellent fun - get enough

speed and anything will make it [;)]

Hi all,

Provided the new baby behaves for long enough, I might have to come along to the Yeovil one if it happens.  Just fitted twin 45t lathe motors in the Gecko and could also bring the brushless cabon juggy for a bit of mayhem!

Cheers

weekend 11/12 or 18/19 suit me - others are out of bounds.

Actually

I'd better get on and order the new tyres for the Blackfoot - I managed

to destroy two at the weekend, don't want to be without a blackfoot for

this meet [;)]

How is everyone else put for these weekends?

Will double check with the wife (my own personal calendar) and let you know for sure later, but either seem good for me!  [:D][<:o)]

Just got to get the rest of my playthings out of the attic!  Might even give the Avante another spin......

18/19th is good for me too.

Looking back at the posts above, if you want to go with the Yeovil idea, I'd suggest meet at the Prince Of Wales pub car park at Ham Hill. Its signed from the centre of the village Stoke Sub Hamdon, which is the next village on from Yeovil, off the A303. There is another pub along the main road through the village; the Half Moon. I hope I've got those the correct way round! But its the one up the narrow lane, up the hill, and there are gravel/tarmac tracks at the top of the hill on the LEFT just before a public car park/viewing are on the right.

Link to multimap; the PH is marked next to Ham Hill Country park if you view at 1:25,000 scale:

http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?cli...amp;scale=25000

Terrain is open grass and gravel footpaths, with some rocks, and plenty of hillocks and humps. Plus lots of steep stoney inclines which are great to try struggling up. Ideal for off road buggies and trucks; fast jumpers or crawlers. I'm sure if we based the meet around a weekend lunchtime, either pub will be open for grub and a drink.

18/19 is good for me too, and Yeovil sounds good [:)]

If

there's some good jumps I might bring my camera along to get some shots

for the "all 4 wheels off the ground" compo [;)

Woohoo!

Aiming to bring: Gecko Crawler, Brushless Jugg, Rough Rider (if I can fix it), Brushless TF, Dyna Storm and maybe some playthings (mini x 2, Avante, TF Hybrid)

Really depends on what I have time to get out of the attic and sorted before the day.

Steve

p.s.  Sorry Shaun, couldn't resist the age thing.  [:P]

OK, if no-one else wants to stick their neck out.... how about Sunday 19th at 10.00-10.30am in the car park (pub at top of Ham Hill - dierctions mentioned earlier in thread).

We can get a good run in late morning and then warm up with a lunchtime pint-and-a-bowl-of-chips.

That suggestion will now ensure plentiful rainfall on that day! [st]

My husband Alex will be coming too, so we'll have between us a Wild Dagger, BajaKing, Gravel Hound, Juggy2 plus my faithfull Bullhead. I'd bring some Minis but I can't remember seeing any tarmac.

Well count me in!! Providing I can find you Ill be there!! However, some what shocked and disheartened to hear there maybe no mini running!!  [:S] Still I supppose it saves me money. By not running it I wont be able to break it (again!) [:D]

Lemming, no worries chap. Ill get my revenge yet!! lol!! [8-|][:P

Might be a good bet if myself and Shaun (Hillman666) don't bring mini's anyway!  The carnage last time would have made any mini lover cry!

Wild dagger versus brushless juggy?  I think that would be amusing...

I think Shaun will now ensure that I have more bits / less cars to bring home!  [:P]

Sounds good to me, although half my collection seems to be in pieces

awaiting parts...  At this stage I might only have a stock Dark

Impact and a Blackfoot Extreme on touring car wheels [:D]

Wild dagger Vs brushless Jugg?? Nah, how about my 14.4v Twin Det vs Brushless Jugg!! More of a match me thinks!! [:P][;)]

I look forward to seeing what I can break!! [H]
