Howdy,

A few people will be racing in a "vintage class" at York off road car club indoors over winter.  Vintage defined as loosely pre-1990, people are talking about bringing the following cars, frog, javelin, procat, rc10, jrx2.  That sort of stuff.

Dates are:

November 25th

January 6th

March 24th

"spec" motors should be sorted out soon, probably HPi sealed 20turn motors, which you'd buy at a reduced rate through the organisers thanks to HPi (all being well.)

Needless to say if your car is stonkingly better than anyone elses you'll have a load of lead slapped on it or something, since this is just a bit of fun and we don't want anyone running off with it.

As you can probably tell, I have no idea what I am talking about and I'm not the organiser. The details aren't firmly set out, but if you are interested in knowing more, check out the thread on oople.com here:

And you can book in here on northernracer.com

Cheers

Jimmy

hehe, yes mate, the vintage stuff has taken a back seat for a while as I concentrate on my website and the reviews / photos etc. But I still have most of my old cars and loads of projects to finish off one day like the 5 scorchers I have in bits.. hehe

Just preparing my RC10 graphite for this weekend at York - so, if anyones interested, pop along..  I dont know all the cars, but there are RC10's, Ultimas, that sort of thing.  General rule is pre-1990 but its all a bit flexible really.   Motors are provided by HPi and are their 20turn sealed can things, not sure on the price yet but it will be reduced from normal of course.

There will be a lil race report and photos im sure up on oople.com and / or northernracer.com afterwards.  So far its just racers in the north east and north west who are taking part, no hardened tamiyaclub members as far as I know which is a shame!  (well, me I guess)
