What would be better....metal shield or rubber shield bearings.....I know metal is good for high RPM's and rubber keeps the grime out but there is no exposed bearings on this kit is there? Just want to get other opinions besides my own....Thanks

I chose rubber shielded ones as dirt and water can get anywhere and F350 anyway is not a racer but heavy and with many transmission stages (losses/friction).

Thanks Theo, that is what I was thinking also....but then I was thinking metal may make the trans shift smoother....but it is a slow, heavy truck but will be subjected to dirt, mud, etc so I'm going with the rubber seals. Have you ever purchased bearings from the WallaWalla guy on ebay? He has bearing kits for a pretty good price.....I just don't want to buy junk to save 20 bucks.

walawala is a good and safe place to buy from [Y] i've used them in the past and found them to be spot on.

Shifting has not much to do with the friction of the bearing as its more an axial movement, also the rolling friction plays very few role on such primitive synchronization system.

Walawala was one of the best HK Tamiya part sellers with excellent service, still buy all my bearings from him.

Cheers

I've bought a couple sets of bearings from Walawala. No problems at all.

I bought the black rubber sealed set for the HL from him. It was about the cheapest I found.
