Having no experience with on road cars, I was wondering which Tamiya road chassis is the most robust, and will take a 4.5 Novak with no problems? Wouldn't mind an on road runner for a change.

Cheers!!

TL01 is probably toughest onroad tourer imho.

But Novak 4.5 should go into something with decent handling so TB02/EvoIII would be my choice.

If it has to be current model then obviously EvoIV/V.

hmm... which reminds me, where's that 4.5 I bought mths ago but still haven't yet bolted into anything... [*-)]

Just dont put the 4.5 into a standard TT01, mine managed to flip within about 2 metres. If I stiffened up the suspension it might have stood a chance though.

I'd say do with a 414/415/415MS/whatever and run the amarid fiber belts. it also wouldn't hurt to try to fit a 48 pitch spur gear to prevent lunching that, tho I doubt taht a 48 pitch would fit

Well, I'm not going to spend heaps on a runner, so its an El cheapo chassis for me.

It will be out of TA-05 and TT-01 I guess......I prefer shaft drive to belt.....or do I? I have no idea why, shaft drive sounds more reliable.....maybe stuff gets stuck in belts.....

Or how about an F-201? What would happen if I put a brushless in that?

I like the F-430 Ferrari or the R-34 skyline with the light kit......which one of these would withstand brushless?

The F201 can handle the brushless. The only problem I found is its a bit too nice of a chassis to throw that fast around and possibly break (if you crash hard). Its one of the few I dont push to the limit.

Why not the TB02 which is the shaft drive equivalent of the TA05, TT01 is entry stuff, much cheaper and lower spec then those 2.

TB02 all the way. I have had/have got the TT01, TB02 and TA05

TT01 - perfect for bashing ultra strong, simple and cheap. BUT brushless is well beyond it

TA05 - superb handling and performance BUT drive train is too open for my street bashing so watch out for a lot of replacment rear pulleys.

TB02 - Same handling as the TA05 (identically suspension) but a stonger bath tub and a SHAFT drive train means no problems with stones. Mine has been perfect so far and at less than the TA05 it would be my choice for your needs, a very underated chassis.

you could just get a TB-02and buy the ferrari body seperately

Indeed, perhaps sell the tb02 one? I would be interested in the 03 subaru tarmac wheels or those of the 04 version as they are more scale like than those I can normally get. Perhaps the rally japan body [:D]
