Anybody in the Poole/Bournemouth - Dorset area interested in a get together?  On or Off road, trucks, tanks etc?  Is there a club already in the area?

Big Wheels Inc and Hillman666, thanks for the replies.  Do you guys meet up for regular 'bashes' (Whatever they may be, I'm new-ish at this game) anyway?  A trip to the beach has always frightened me: all that sand and all that salt!  If you want to go, I'm up for it.  Saturdays are best, or Sunday mornings...actually anytime I'm not at work and can escape the endless DIY!!! And not at Poole Park with my boat!

Hi Mike,

We have meet up a few times for running cars but never got round to sorting a regular meet. We all know each other really well and do meet quite a lot for trades and coffee etc but never quite got the bash meet sorted. Maybe now its about time! With a few more locals it could be a good laugh!

 Cheers

There's a current thread discussing a possible November meet up in Somerset, and one of the location options is Yeovil. Would you Poole chaps be interested? I know its only an hour's drive from the Nuffield Rd Industrial Estate cus I used to occasionally travel down there for work!

I have been browsing these forums for ages but never realised any of you lot were local to bournemouth. I could be up for a local meet [:)]

It looks like there are a few people around the Poole/Bournemouth area.  Perhaps we should have a get together somewhere local.  What sort of stuff does everyone run?  I have a tank (Pershing), a truck (King Hauler), a Baja King and soon a Gator/Viper...when I convince myself (herself!) I can afford it!

Just 1.10 buggies for me nowadays, did run nitro but now hurn tracks gone! to much hassle anyhow, tried touring car racing found it a bit dull although your spoilt for choice if you want to race as tracks are all over the place down here. Seem to spend most time trying to find somewhere good to go off road these days more than actually driving! cheers Dave

I find either Canford Heath, St Catherines Hill or Hengistbury Head pretty good. I used to run a T Maxx and take it out to the new forest but looking after the nitro engine was a pain. I have the choice of a few on road or off road vehicles so doesn't bother me.

Mainly off road buggies and trucka for me. Although I do have a couple of M03's and a couple of road cars too. Have a nitro truck and a mini but they dont get run much.

Have been running cars mainly at Redhill field in Bournemouth, Baiter park and canford heath on occassion.

As there seems to be quite a few of us locally a meet could be good fun! [:D]

Yeah, a meet sounds like a laugh.  I guess we're pretty much at the mercy of the weather this time of year.  Anyone know of/have a favourite venue?

Sounds good to me, not to busy this time of year aswell i would imagine. Is there any interest or will the meet up die a death and i'll be back to running around the nuffield est on my lonesome again[:(]

It'll only die a death if we let it...which we probably will!

I shall be at Hengistbury Head at 2:00pm Saturday, for about an hour or so.  I'll bring my Baja King.  If this is no good for you guys 'n' gals, pick another time/place.

Bigwheels_inc: I could do Sunday morning...oh no I can't, I just remembered, busy with kids and stuff and then there's football in the afternoon and...Oh, that'll be the weekend gone again!  Hey ho!  I'm still up for Saturday though.  Can you do a meet in the morning?  I can if you're up for it.

Just because I can't do it doesn't mean it can't happen!  I'm free(ish) on Sat 18th morning/lunch-time, but going to see Bournemouth play in the afternoon.  Sun 19th I'm pretty busy all day.  I was just wondering about an evening indoor meet, but Monday its swimming, Tuesday athletics, Wed football, Thu something or other and Fri Scouts...and that's just the kids, nuthin' to do with me, except taxiing them all over the place!  I also have no idea if there are any indoor places available in the area.  I don't have an on-road car, but hey, anything with wheels will do, it's all a bit of fun isn't it?

Mike

I'm still up for this Saturday.  Happened to mention it to SWMBO this evening: I reckon the swelling will have gone down enough by Saturday for me to see out of that eye OK!

So, I'll be at the Cafe, Hengistbury Head, 2:00pm, Saturday with a navy blue, truck bodied Baja King.  I can only come out to play until 3:00pm.  Run what ya brung: car, truck, buggy whatever (boat might be a tad tricky, unless there's a high tide!)
