Manimal, Automan, Simon& Simon, Riptide, Hardcastle and MacCormick, Chips, and the Incredible Hulk with Bill Bixby...The transformation, really scared me!!!!

Floyd, I think the sci-fi show was Red Dwarf - early series were great.  Written by the same guy who did a lot of the Dr Who series, Terry Nation.
