If you look aound there are a few places on the net that do 'HOT-POUR' casting equipment and sundries.

Would it not be easier to use the'white-metal' that is used for war-gaming figures? This can be melted on a household cooker or would it not be strong enough(Tamiyas SRB gearcases and front ends LOOK like they are white-metal but I have no idea for certain, anyone??)

'White-metal' is an alloy of usually led and tin mixed together. Alluminium would be much stronger and lighter, even though it is hard to work with, it would be worth it.. Just the molds are the problem, ill solve it though[;)]

With silicon moulds you may use aluminium reinforced polyurethane coumpound which is basically much stronger than standard resine.
