Oh, that would be me. Well, I looked through the old threads, and I could not find anything on the ugliest car, so, if anybody thinks they can top this one, give it your best. I recieved this car in a lot of stuff, and I would have everybody know, I did not do anything other than take a picture. Please take note of the pinion gear holding part of the steering linkage in place, and, it is impossible to miss the coat hangers attached to the rear arms. These pics are the only record that this monstrosity ever existed; as you are reading this thread, I have done the only ethical thing, and completely diassembled it, and its parts now reside with its friends in my " spare parts " drawer.

What a good idea, they should hold this as the title of next months Member awards [:D]

I've got quite a few suitable candidates [;)]

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=21701&id=37 Yankee Electra for it's Unique chassis design and uneven body profile

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=21703&id=37 Nichimo Luminous and http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=14234&id=37 Nichimo Cosmo Shooter, what the badword were the design guys at Nichimo on when they penned these futuristic looking monstrocities [B)]

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=10756&id=37 The Hirobo Alien, another example of Weird futuristic styling

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserimage.asp...002204632_2.jpg + http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserimage.asp...002204632_3.jpg My Kyosho Icarus BEFORE restoration

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=20536&id=37 The T.A.G Navajo with its squashed cockpit and spindly looking suspension layout.

But the car that takes the prize and the biscuit is the Mugen Mercury XI-4 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=8889&id=37 perhaps the only RC car to have been beaten about the head with the Ugly stick at birth [B)]

I see that a lot of you are posting up pictures of cars that are all dirty, damaged or modified remains of cars that might have looked quite smart when they were new and in their origoinal forms, most of the cars I'm campaining were Ugly even when they were new [;)] in fact most of the once shown here are new built or restored examples [;)]

Wrong topic...should read the most dirty rc...I don't understand how people cannot spend a few dollar to buy a good brush ie. 1" or 25mm paint brush and keep the rc clean...personally I cannot stand dirty RC. Before I put my RC away after a day of running I would make sure all the dirt and crud are removed and the screws are tight before I put it away...look after your RC and you'll get more enjoyemnt out of it and who knows when it comes to selling it you may get more money for it. A good quality paint brush is cheap and can be clean with soap and water...is money worth spending

I disagree, I think the combination of dirty and mis matched parts make for some fantastically ugly creations. I guess having a fetish of keeping every car sparkling clean is a good idea, but I think I am not alone when I say alot of fellas have jobs, lives, families and to get a few spare minutes when it is nice out and there is a space available to run is a real treat- point being, my cars usually go right back in the box when I get back from a little running, and if I get time for cleaning, great, but more times than not, they get a quick inspection, large debris removed and a little lubrication.

Sorry Cavscout, I work 6 days a week on average over 66 hrs per week, I have a family, and still have time to brush my teeth and take a shower every day , work out every other day, and take in the odd golf game, and clean up my RC. The saying goes something like if there is a will there is a way and cleaning up an rc will take less than 5 min of your time but at the end of the day is your property and you can choose how you want to keep it. My believe is called pride in ownership and I have met people form my local track that they run the RC (nitro) put it away, run it again next time and do major overhall at the end and the cycle repeats itself. I prefer preventive maintianance and is like looking after your body, up 40 one can still handle the abuse but after 40 is another story ....is an indivdual call and only my opinion...cheers.[:)]
