Yes, that is cool.!

Must get myself a VW shell....( anyone got a link to a shell seller?)

I've been messing about with different pinions for the BS, currently running a 17t seems to give a nice acceleration... alas, it's just a silver can, which will do for the time being... I do like the on/off road style of the BStar, tyres definitely need to be glued for best results..

Craig.

I get them from Gerard at OZ RC models in Brisbane http://stores.ebay.com.au/OZ-RC-MODELS. I've just ordered some more actually. Just email him, he's great to deal with

Did the same thing with a Frog chassis and Blitzer Beetle body, made a rear cage and stinger for it, turned out pretty good [:D]  have a look in my showroom at my "sand buggy", a few different pics of it there.

G'day Mr Biccies, u are actually the reason I bought a frog to make into a pretend scorcher. I saved some pics of your car on my hard drive ages ago.

Can u post or email me some better high resolution ones, especially from behind showing the cage & muffler.

Looks awesome!

Just have been reading this thread, and I really like the "alternative scorchers" I will get two frogs today, so I think one is going to be a scorcher. And when mr. biccies find it good. I will make such a rear cage in a CAD program, then there could be more SS frogs. Maybe will use the new kamtec shell, but the development of a rear cage will take much time.

Won't be simple to make one, but I can try it at least.

I got some new wheels today, They are Marui Samarai rear wheels, they came with tyres but the Rough Rider rear tyres were a perfect snug fit. I just have to get the front wheels chromed to match, or better still would be some Rough Rider front wheels & tyres. Anyone Down under got any?

Oh, and there has been two other TamiyaClub Australian get-togethers over the past three or four years.... both of which managed to attract two Aussies and a Kiwi.... so if you get three or more attendees you're doing well!!!

Hi, I feel sure that three can be beaten, I am at The Entrance and plan to have a runner by christmas day. I'll be working in Port Macquarie for the next 3 months, but i'd probably drive down.

Hey all,

I'd be keen for that run in january, just doing some long over due maintenace on the runners to have some cars up to scratch! That BMX track looks like it would be a great spot to use. How heavily used is it Jak is it possible we could hold it there?

I have generally got there very early in the morning so that there is normally no one else there. It's pretty popular & the rc cars get a little too much interest from the kids on bikes if u know what I mean. It is an awesome track though, dead smooth with some awesome jumps. Everyone knows where Terrigal is as well.

Umina Beach is less crowded though, just have to deal with sand instead of dirt.

I could do either Terrigal or Umina, maybe we could do both??

Really not entirely sure when I will be on the coast again? I do have holidays in Jan, so I will try my hardest to get across... but as I have said, another baby is about to arrive, so it is really hard for me to give a definite, yes, no maybe!!!.

Mate. you reckon you're sick of "playing" with yourself?!?

You should all come down to Tassie for a run on some real sweet beaches. Oh and have a nice holiday too...

I might be coming down to Tassie next year to race the Wildside Mountain Bike Race. I'm sure I could put the Froggy in the back pack.

Hey Guys,

did the get together go ahead??  After taking my hotshot for a run or 2 up at stockton (have to find the firmer areas of sand up there) I've been thinking of making up a mock scorcher, well to be honest I've been searching high and low for one at garage sales, antique and bric a brac shops, etc  etc, and then being regularly shocked at the cost of them on ebay.

but yeah I'll prolly end up with something similar, they all look fantastic, and i do like running my oldies, so probably a better idea.

I'd say that i'd come along if you haven't had the get together, but i work most weekends, except for this coming one! Woohoo!!  :)
