Wow, I really love the 934. And indeed, what does the rough rider and the hotshot do there? Maybe also a re-re? Woulde be great, then I can finally afford an SRB (yes when you're 17, you couldn't afford a "real" one)

The Rough Rider orange color is interesting... They would have a much simple job by bringing the box-art Rough Rider that sits at the Tamiya museum. Instead they apparently take a new shell and bother to paint it orange. Where did they get this shell from? their secret stash? ebay? maybe a short production run? (very unreasonable) or maybe..... from a big production run meant for the near future rerelease? OK, I know, I'm starting to sound irrational, so correct me if I'm wrong...

There's an Avante there too [;)]

And what's with that Rough Rider having a stinger pipe like a Scorcher?

So the Hot Shot and Rough Rider are on display, but are definitely not being re-released at this stage. The Rough Rider for example still has original sponsor decals, NGK, Rapid Cool etc, which is a giveaway. These look like they are just there as display cars that are landmark cars of Tamiya's 30 years in RC... and maybe to gauge if they're popular enough for re-releasing?

Don't forget, the Avante, Hot Shot and Rough Rider were part of the coffee series of 11 mini iconic car models - And so were the Top Force, Frog, Hornet, Manta Ray, Grasshopper, Thundershot... Mmmm, speculation...

great post thanks i love that the tamtech 934 is in the priginal kitbox also they have gone to alot of effort on the chassis i wonder if we will see more old cars getting a relrelease on it ie the countach?

Am also very positively surprised from the new Tamtech GT01 chassis, looks very high tech, also with its front damper configuration it can be fitted sleek bodies, so maybe we will see more classics like Countach! [H]

Awesome pics! Really liking the TamTech 934 to be honest. I am waiting for pics of the TT-01 RX-7 to be shown. I am really excited to get that car!

I agree, I love the laydown shocks and overall look of the chassis. The linkage up front looks awesome! I also like that chassis brace that looks somewhat like a partial roll cage.  The low slung rear motor is perfect for the Porsche as well.  They really nailed it on this one, from the body, chassis, even the box looks great.  I'm impressed.  [8-|]

yes theo thats what prickled my interest as why they would go for a front susspension setup like that as it would lend itself to the original shells from the chassis where very little clearence was required. Also im guessing the tamtech shell is made with the same technique as the 1/10 934 as detail looks realy good. I do hope though some may come out with the original hardbodies.

I also wondered if its also made with the new technique as it looks very nice, in this case I don't really miss hard bodied ones as this way we can even run those beauties without them falling appart already at lap 1 LOL ! [H]

Hmm...  I'm looking forward to the Brat, but not really liking

those colours much!!  Original red, or perhaps utility white would

do it for me, with Brat stripes in simple black.

But...  I'm

definately in love with the Porsche!!  Wasn't too fussed about it

initially, but those pics of that chassis look absolutely superb.

Might have to add one of those to my list as well...

The Tamtech 934 looks seriously cool! Can't help but wonder if the front suspension, while allowing low nosed cars, is a little overcomplex. Let's just hope there isn't tonnes of slop or any fragility. Wonder if you can get a 540 into the gearbox.......

Well if not, a Super Stock is shorter than a 540 [;)

Great releases! The Porsche is very nice, and many thanks to Tamiya for keeping the excellent original boxart. I just noticed the difference in color. Is Cobalt green the "right" color from the original. As there seems to be a difference in colocr on the cars shown. One is "greener" than the other.

Anyway, the Brat is very nice also, strange though about the missing 4WD logo, there shouldnt be any copyright issues with that.

To me the tamtech gear GT01 based 1/12 934 is even more exciting then the TA05 based 1/10 934...

And the layout of the new GT01 is more like a buggy then a touring car... and I am not suprise subsequence

release of the buggy version based on this chasis.

The new "Cobalt Green" is the correct color. The old one wasn´t correct.

Ok, so was the color to be used on old 934 ordinary green beacuse they never manufactured cobalt green back then. In a way old 934 green feels like the "right" 934 color. But Cobalt green is nice for sure.

Agree, also find it more exciting and well made then the TA05 as its rear drive, rear motor and has a driver figure. Am sure more nice classic sport car bodies will come with it in the future [H].

Just got back from a walk around town, popped in to see my pals in Bath

Model Centre - they were unaware of these new developments, but seemed

pretty darned excited when I filled them in on the details [:D]
